A Qajar sherbet spoon carved from light wood, made in two parts with pierced handle joined to the boat-shaped bowl-section by a socket. Shigenobu (Hiroshige II) 1826-1869. The oban tate-e triptych depicts Minamoto no Yorimitsu, Sakata no Kintoki and Watanabe no Tsuna entering the mountain home of the demons. Circa 1851-1853. Shigenobu was a pupil of Ando Hiroshige and adopted his name to become the second generation after his master's passing in 1858. A collection of a large porcelain peach and two citron (Buddha Hand) porcelain fruit. Such ceramic fruits were used to decorate a family alter when worshiping ones' ancestors. The peach measures about 4 1/4" long. The citrons measure 3 3/4" long and 4 1/2" long. The condition of all three fruit is excellent. All three pieces date to the late 19th Century. Cedar wooden ‘post-hide’ or hashira kakushi that is used as a decoration of the vertical post in a room that is not a corner post, or the vertical post of the tokonoma (niche). The post-hide is the same width as the the vertical pillar posts in a Japanese house, hiding it thus almost completely in width...

Diameter approximately 32 cm. Soft frits at the inner and outer rim. There are no hairline, chip, crack or repair. More pictures are available. In good condition.
