A very rare sancai original, three color, glazed Tang duck cup probably used for drinking rice wine. Three colors with some blue cobalt. This rare and unusual ivory carving of a sage is an early 20th century product. It is 10” high (with fitted hard wood base, it is 11” high), 3 ½” wide and 3” thick both measured from bottom. This image is the great Chinese herbalist and acupuncturist Li Shi-Zhen (李 時 珍, 1518~1593). Li Shi-Zhen is considered to be one of the greatest naturalists in China. 19th Century Chinese Blue and White Porcelain underglaze Blue Urn with Cover, 17 1/2", 10" wide-widest part, 5 1/2" diameter-top rim, sharp brilliant nice underglaze Blue decoration of double Happiness character among scrolling vine and Peony floral decoration, marked on the bottom but this urn or jar was made during early 1800's to mid 1800's, representing good quality of Blue and White Porcelain Product. Beautiful Rare and Unusual Tibetan cabinet with wonderful painted front panels of various beasts roaming grassy plains, some with piles of fruit around them, each panel has a red border with green swirl designs. The cabinet's frame is a lovely deep red hardwood, painted with flowers on creeping vines. Original finish and condition. Early 20th century Size: 44" height, 40.5" width, 19" depth

The only differences between this matching pair of Japanese woman's hair combs are the very slight details in the hand-painted design and the size and spacing of the tines. The finely detailed lacquer design was painted in 3 shades of gold. Unfortunately the minute details, flower petals and tree knots are hard to see in the photos.

A beautiful hand painted iron red Kutani charger decorated with images of children at play, birds and floral arrangements. Sometimes referred to as a low bowl, these large dishes make wonderful accent pieces weather it is hung on your wall as art or placed on a table as a centerpiece. In very good antique condition, no paint losses, no chips, no repairs. There are 2 hairline cracks that are in the crazing and do not affect the integrity of the charger. Pair of matched naturally stressed wooden plaques with “couplet”, encouraging harmony and peace. Traditionally Chinese write to right to left so the meaning of the board on the right encourages one to “admit your mistakes to avoid trouble in the world” while the one on the left, encourages one to “be tolerant, to live in peace”. It has been suggested to me that these may be have been hung in an old Kung Fu studio as this would express the spirit of martial arts...

Large Burmese Guardian Figure Wood Sculpture of an Overseer. Purchased in Barani, New Delhi in 1995. 27.5 inches, 70 cm. From the collection of Irwin Hersey, renowned author on Asian and primitive art, and publisher of the Primitive Art Newsletter in the 1970s. Irwin Hersey was an advisor to museums and prominent collectors, and vetted pieces for many of the international tribal art fairs and Asian art fairs.

Statue, made of glass, representing Buddha Amithaba_ sitting cross-legged on an elevated lotus throne, his head backed by a lotus aureola, both hands holding a vase containing the nectar of immortality in his lap. China, early 19th century. Height: 10.1 cm. Very good condition.

The bronze plaque was in a scene of an ox fighting with a tiger and a snake.
The depiction was well done by excellent craftsmanship.
It was hollow casted.
Nice patina was preserved on the surface.
One side was squeezed.

Date: 2 B.C , Western Han periods.

Dimensions 13 cm x 8.5cm x 4.0cm.

Similar piece was found in the Yunnan Province Museum.

Pair of Framed Korean Antique Embroidered Pillow Ends with a Happy Peacock Family and Flowers. Peacocks symbolize the 9 Virtues: a tidy face, clear voice, careful walk, appropriate behavior according to place and time, moderation in eating and drinking, knowing how to be content, existing together, not being obscene, and always returning. Eternity and continuity are symbolized by the lovely multi-colored repeating 'ryul' characters that are embroidered all around the borders...

Rare Antique Japanese kuruma or wheeled tansu chest of drawers, constructed with solid quartered sawn Keyaki (zelkova) hardwood in original red lacquer finish, with decorative heavy iron plates and mounts. The upper section of the piece appears to hold two long drawers behind a locking bar, but is really four drawers. The lower section has two long drawers behind another locking bar, each bar with decorative plating...

A nice early powder flask, Greater Persia, shaped as the first stomach of the Camel with fine engravings.

Size: 25 cm.

Condition: Intact, but with much patina and wear.

Ex. Old Danish Private Collection and the flask comes with an identity card from the collection, added in 1992.

This antique traditional tribal dagger was made and used by the Manding people who are indigenous to the Western Sudan region of Africa. The dagger is 10 inches long and has a leather covered pommel. The blade is dulled and rusted with a small bend at the tip. The original matching scabbard has traditionally woven worked leather decoration with belt loop and tassel.
