Perfectly potted porcelain body. A very decorative Guan type glaze. Eighteenth century, most probably Yongzheng period. A very impressing and important piece.

Description: This is a vey finely potted yingqing or qingbai meiping from the Song dynasty. The body is incised with a beautifully free hand drawing of lotus flower with scrolling foliages.
Dimension: The height is 17cm and the dimeter at the widest part of the body is 11cm.
Condition: In good condition with no repair, restoration, chip or crack. Minor abrasion, especially at the mouth (picture 5)and very minor abrasion on the body.
Antique Japanese two panel screen inlaid on both sides with mother of pearl and bone. The front has two beautiful scenes of birds and butterflies perched on flowering wisteria branches. The lower register has a phoenix and a dragon. The back side has scenes of butterflies flittering about. The lower region has panels of crashing waves.Meiji period, 1868-1912.

He produced Kachina dolls which are a combination of many dolls and figments of his own imagination. He believed that you didn't carve actual Kachinas for the tourist market. A large porcelain Jubaku consisting of four tiered containers with cover decorated with a karakusa ground in yellow and green enamels inset with auspicious figures of Chinese boys, karako, and reserves containing Peonies and rocks, traditional symbols of the arrival of Spring. These jubako was used specifically during the New Year festival.
The containers measure approximately 25cm high and 18.5cm in diameter and weighs 2.810kg in total weight.
