DESCRIPTION: A small black lacquer Chinese cabinet, the front doors with male and female figures in a courtyard setting gazing onto a lake beyond. The doors are surrounded by a border of pomegranate leaves and fruit with a vase on either side. The top, back and sides are lacquered black with faint floral decorations. Originating from Shanxi Province, this box is in "all original" condition with no repairs or replacements, including the original metal door fittings...

Antique Chinese lapis bottle, with detailed carvings of a beautiful woman in flowing robes standing beside a small boy holding a peach, who appears to be handing the woman a leaf. The flip side of the container is carved with a long-stemmed sunflower and puffs of smoke. The lid has reticulated carvings of a sunflower and stems with two birds perched upon it. circa 19 century Size: 4" height, 2.5" width

Antique Chinese lapis bottle with raised carvings of a taotie motif over squared spiral designs with dragon heads, and pierced spiraling dragons on the bottles' sides. There are carved downwards pointing leaves near the top with two handles in the form of beast heads and carved rings. The lid has an artichoke shaped finial. Comes with a delicate hardwood stand with silver inlay.

This representation of the female deity in seated position retains its old brown patina with areas of verdigris both on the exterior of the image as well as the interior of the base. The overall condition is very good with some minor wear but no apparent damages. Acquired from a Chapel Hill, NC estate, originally collected in the 1930s.

DESCRIPTION: A large and handsome Sumida Gawa vase with ribbed body, high relief figures and pinched neck. A thick, traditional flambe' glaze in dark brown and blue covers the mouth and neck, and flows down the shoulders. Fine attention to detail has been paid to the handmade figures of a boy and girl standing on ledges against the ribbed body. Inoue (Ryosai) maker's mark in pear-shaped appliqué on the back. This is a finely carved 19th Century rectangular Manju netsuke depicting the Two Sennin kanzan and Jittoku, who are standing and holding a large ball. The two sennin are brothers, and are Usually Represented as juveniles with the faces of old age. Japanese small kiri storage box with a bamboo carrying handle. It has two small squared drawers, one long, thin bottom drawer with a warabite handle, and a lift away panel with a spacious storage area. Size: 12.5" height, 11.5" width, 6.25" depth

These cups all have slightly flaring sides and are well-potted with thin rims. The sides are decorated with a repeating floral design in underglaze cobalt blue. The bases are glazed and the narrow footrings are unglazed, exposing the fine, white porcelain body. A hairline crack can be seen on the one of the cups, approximately one inch long, otherwise they are in good condition.

A beautiful 19th century miniature armor with storage box, made for a gogatsu ningyo doll to display on the Boy's day. Made of black lacquered papier-mache, partial with gilt relief decoration of waves, bound together with brown cord ties. Few parts as the maedate made of metal, the fabric is a Japanese brocade. Condition: traces of usage, wear, small chips and few cracks. The menpo is a bit squashed and has losses, one fukigaeshi is buckled. Dimension: yoroi: 30 cm x 16 cm.
