A brass wash pan that was used for personal grooming during the late Joseon Dynasty. The bowl has been formed by the process known as wrought, where the metal is worked into shape by beating it with a hammer. The hammering marks on this pan are clearly visible. The pan measures 4 3/4" high x 16 3/4" in diameter, and dates to the early 20th Century. It is good example of folk ware and metal art. The condition is very good, with some stains and corrosion that could be polished out...

This porcelain tea cup, saucer and plate were produced in England by Spode Copeland in the late 19th century. The plate measures 5 5/8 inches square, the saucer measures 4 3/4 inches square and the cup is 2 5/8 inches high. The set is made of fine, white bone china. Antique Japanese carved bamboo kakehana, wall vase for flowers. This section of bamboo has been carved with the figure of Quanyin (Kannon). The Goddess of Mercy is seen floating amidst storm clouds, ribbons of lightening streaking across the sky around her. There is a small rectangular hole in the back of the vase so it can hang from a hook or nail in the wall.

Wonderful Charming small Bizen ware handmade sculpture of a sitting dog. Nice detail work especially his eyes and ears and even the circular woven mat on which he sits. He has a collar and an alert expression. Original piece with no condition issues. Taisho Period. (1912-1926). Size: 5 1/2" high

A nice and elegant shaped of black glaze ewer, with four lugs to the shoulder and covered overall with rich black tone. Song/Yuan Dynasty possibly Fujian ware. Founded in South-Sulawesi. Condition is good, only tiny re-touched to rim. Height: 14 cm, Maximum wide; 18 cm.

A large heavy bottle vase depicting two confronting five clawed dragons amongst clouds and flames and above breaking waves. The base carries the six character seal mark of the Qianlong Emperor (1736-1795)but possibly made later during the 19th Century. It arrived in the UK before 1910 and is from an old West Country estate. Condition - the neck has been reduced and polished. There are no chips or cracks and there has been no restoration but there are surface scratches...

Antique Korean large blue and white porcelain jar, with a long, oval shaped body. Cobalt underglaze sparrows and pomegranates on branches decorate the body, with a collar of ruyi motifs along the base of the neck. The foot has a single ring above it in cobalt blue. Choson Dynasty 19th century.

This wildly over-the-top Egyptian Revival inkwell has the goddess Hathor as the center piece. She was the goddess of dance, music, and fertility (how cool is that!). She is wearing big earrings, and her usual headdress. She seems to have a flower in her hair, and in front of her there is foliage tied by a ribbon with a bow (we can’t tell if it’s laurel or mistletoe)...

One of the largest tablet or brick seals, we've ever offered. Bifacial tablet seals can normally be dated to around the 3rd. millenium BC. This is so delicately carved that it could be made somewhat later in the 2nd. mill. BC.

The black serpentine seal depicts a large Bee, filling the whole of the seal, and on the other side a Scorpion. Particularly, the Bee is masterfully engraved, so that even tiny details and textures of the bee can be seen...

This lovely string holder weighs 3 ounces, and its pierced design allows you to see if you will soon need more string. It measures 3-1/4" in diameter and it stands 3-1/4" in height. A Lusan dark-glazed ewer was decorated with characteristic and charming blue splashes on the surface.
The beige-tinted body clay was revealed at the bottom and was in old abrasion look.

Date: Tang Dynasty, 8th century.

A CHINESE FOLDING FAN.

A Chinese paper fan with bamboo sticks, the paper centre is varnished in order to stiffen the paper. The bamboo sticks are decorated with a hot point, a technique known in the West as pyrography. There is a worn out silk tassel with a large amethyst bead.

Approximately 30 cm long. The fan is in fine condition overall but one or two on the bamboo inner sticks have short splits. These could be easily strengthened with glue.

Antique Japanese choba tansu (merchant's chest) with interesting features such as semi circle corner hardware, cross plating over sliding doors, squared locks, and mokko (melon) style handles. An Unusual Pair of Newell Harding Coin Silver Salts, in a Georgian Style. Dimensions; 3" in diameter x 1.5" high; weight 7.2 troy ounces. Excellent condition. Monogram, the same as on our Harding Pitcher, item number 1866 and Trocadero number 1099895. Note that the "Harding" part of the mark is rubbed, but can be made out on one.
