In twisted body posture, the beast or dragon with bulging eyes, wide mouth and extruding fangs was supposed a peaceful animal by the pattern on his back, a swirling TaiChi cloud.
The sculpture was well preserved except the abrasions down under due to age.

The ultimate in men’s accessories is this 14Kt white gold pen knife from the early twentieth century. It was originally used on watch chains as a functional fob. The knife has two folding blades one of which is a knife blade and the other is a nail file/ pick. On the front there is a diamond shaped 14Kt yellow gold plaque, hand-engraved with the initials H.D. The length of the knife is 2 3/8” including the fold down bail, and the width is 7/16”.
This is a fine early Japanese Satsuma vase. It was made before 1900 and is one of the better examples I have seen from this artist.. The enamel work and relief dragon are done very well. The vase is interesting and has a lot of character. It is very heavy and in very good condition. The only real flaw is a broken horn on the dragon which is a common occurrence with these pieces. This can be fixed fairly easily and I could arrange for this small repair for the buyer. Stands 9 1/2 inches tall.

A very beautiful and finely potted ewer of gourd shaped from the Song dynsty.
Very good condition. No restoration, chip, crack or hairline. Because of one of the small stone pit standing on the base, it does not stand totaly flat. However this does not affect the beauty and aesthetic shaped of the gourd shaped ewer. Nice gloss and colour.

This very well carved white jade (nephrite) Lohan (Arhat) is an early 20th century product. It depicts a Lohan sitting on a rock, his left hand holds a wood stick he is using to clean his ear; his right arm is resting on the rock. The impression on his face is just interesting and realistic. It is 6 ¼” high, 5 ¾” wide and 3 ½” thick. Aside from natural blemishes, it is in great condition.

This is an amazing copper alloy spear head from ancient China - likely dating to the late Zhou dynasty. It was excavated in what is now the Sichuan province and I believe it to be from the Ba or Ba-Shu culture. Liewen, tao-tie and other decorations are incised into the socket area on both sides. The socket extends almost to the tip of the spear and has remnants of the wooden shaft inside. The delicate attachment loops are still intact. There are no signs of repair or restoration to this fabulou...
This piece is a fantastic specimen of Southeast Asian art from the 12-13th century Khmer culture. It was cleaned several years ago by the previous owner but does retain some of its original patina. It appears to have been crafted in two pieces and is cast from either a copper or possibly a silver alloy - though I have not had it tested. It is just under 19 cm tall and weighs 335 grams.
