Chinese transitional period compressed ovoid form jar decorated in underglaze blue with birds and insects flying among bamboo and flowering plants emerging from rockery set against a white porcelain ground. The upright glazed neck is decorated with downward pointed leaves. Glazed interior and flat slightly recessed unglazed base. 17th century. Measures nearly 12" high. Very good overall condition. There is a fine old brown chicken foot crack in the interior (see image)...

A sturdy and thickly potted mid to late Ming Longquan celadon vase, featuring a thickly glazed deep-green body and incised trellis diapers. Please note that this piece is quite heavy and weighs 4 lbs alone...

A circular dish with slightly everted rim decorated with a landscape freize to the cavetto. The pattern is split into equal halves, by a zigzagging screen wall on one side, and an S shaped motif with ruyi cloud shaped motifs. The first portion of the design shows a pair of scholar’s playing Go sitting beneath a Bodri Tree set in a landscape with a scholar’s refuge cum tea house and oddly oversized autumn flowers, kikyo, bell flowers, and suisen, Japanese narcissus...

Very old Karatsu Chawan (early Edo), slightly deformed rare wan type.

It is thrown on a wheel from coarse unrefined iron baring clay and has tasteful colours.

Smooth feeling in the hands and great antique condition with expected fine hairline cracks and inborn kiln cracks.j

This is an absolutely rare black Seto chawan ( setoguro chawan ) from the late Momoyama Period, which means the late 16th century or the changeover from Azuchi Momoyama to early Edo.

Blackish-brown glaze amalgamates with a wild and roughly thrown body. It is very heavy for a tea bowl, almost 500g. Please note that there is also an interesting kiln mark ( watch image number 3 )

Chinese Ming Dynasty (or older) stone head of a Buddha, mounted. The size is 44 cm in height (including stand) and the weight is 16,5 kg.

Well-carved with the face in a pleasant expression with beautiful lips and almond-shaped eyes, flanked by elongated earlobes and his hair in a four leaf style, which is extremely rare. We never have seen that type of hair on the antique market before.

Well potted very white porcelain body ( Dehua Ware ) with an simple but quite decorative cobalt blue underglaze decoration. Diameter : 9,4 cm. H : 5 cm. Condition : Nearly invisible V - shape hairline and another short extremely fine, neary invisible hairline.

A Chinese bronze hu-form vase with tubular handles and a cast band around the shoulder. Late Ming, 17th century. 24 cms. (shallow dent to lower part of one side)

German Westerwald Cylindrical Tankard with a Pewter Lid. Decorated with a central band of applied flower heads on a blue ground. C1700. Ht. excluding lid, 5 3/4" (14.7cm). Condition of the tankard is excellent; no chips, cracks or restoration.Pewter lid with some corrosion and a small hole.

A most beautiful, most impressive, large underglaze blue and white decorated bowl from the Ming Dynasty, Wanli Period ( 1573 - 1620 ) The Cobalt blue is excellent, the decoration of the Ducks in a Lotus-pond is superb. Diameter : 22,1 cm. H : 11 cm. Condition : There is one old secured crack to the wall of the bowl but there is also still a bright " Ping " tone when tapped. No chips, extremely minute fritting to the rim (actually not really worth mentioning).

A 16th/17th Century eight-sided bronze censer (incense burner) made in China during the late Ming dynasty (circa 1550-1644). Condition, very good - two of the feet have been secured by rivets one with an associated split and there is a small 0.8cm long thin gap below the rim - all possibly dating to the time of manufacture (please view enlargements 7,8 and 9). Dimensions - 14cm (5.5inches) across; 8.5cm (3.3inches) high...
