A Chinese, qingbai glazed, bowl with incised decoration of boys amongst floral scrolls; Southern Song dynasty. The glaze is an attractive pale bluish-green colour. Diameter, 20 cm. Provenance: From the Hurdle collection of early Chinese ceramics. Condition: A couple of short tight hairlines eminating from the rim. Some age related wear.

It is a Japanese antique komebukuro bag. It is a komebukuro bag sewn together with indigo dye Omi Kasuri jyoufu and European chintz. It does not stain and has two small holes. There is damage on the bottom.The inside has light stains from aging. 　　 size:: Length 22cm / 8.66inch Width 42cm / 16.5cm

19th century marine netsuke of mother and son. Nicely carved piece with wonderful smiling faces, black and red ink highlights. Texture on the walrus tusk core can be seen on the back of the carving. Old age line, very pleasant patina. Height 1 13/16 inches.

A rare bamboo chado tea caddy for powdered green tea, the interior covered with black lacquer. The exterior carved with the four gentlemen of winter: plum, bamboo, chrysanthemum and orchid. Subtly embellished with silver wire. Condition: lower part with a crack, silver wire partially lost, a bit dusty, traces of age. Dimension: height: c. 6.3 cm, diameter: c. 5.7 cm.

The two-tiered round mochi(round rice cake) called "Kagami-mochi",Ise lobster, bitter orange and green leaves. Painted with ink and pigments on paper. Sealed. The piece has been restored and remounted with beautiful old silk fabric, and futai tassels have been also reused from the old piece. It is inscribed Motonobu on the lid of the storage box.

The subject depicted is an offering made to welcome the New Year's god "Toshigami", and all of the decorations have a meaning...

19th Century French bronze hinged box with engraved sides. The lid featured a rooster made of very fine feathers under glass. Original lining. In excellent condition, this little treasure measures approximately 4 1/4" long, 1" deep and 3" at widest point.

Substantial seal carved and finely polished in a beautiful diorite hardstone, very popular and scarce in antiquitiy and used extensively by the Egyptians. A black hardstone with white inclusions. The seal in the gable of scaraboid shape and with the preffered carvings of globular patterns of the Uruk period stamp seals of Mesopotamia...

This is a beautiful and elegant 18th lead toasting glass. It is of two part construction, and features a flared drawn trumpet bowl, and a multiple spiral (MSAT) stem on a conical foot with a rough snapped pontil.

Excellent color with good tool marks and striations on the bowl and foot; pristine condition. Please note that what appears to be a disturbance on the front of the bowl is merely a reflection or glare.

A tall 7 1/4" in height, 2 7/16" bowl diameter, 2 11/16" foot diameter.

Chinese archaic pottery figure of a calling camel on a solid base, made from red clay. The statue has a great, incredibly detailed form. The inside body of the camel is hollow and within it you can see finger imprints from the original artist. In wonderful, original condition. Tang Dynasty dates from AD 618-907. Size: 22" H

A Houtien jade rabbit was well rendered in simple form.
In characteristics of early periods, the jade pebble was in greasy feel and was suffused with brownish incursions in portions.
Stone crackles were also resulted due to age.
An original drilling hole was in the middle of the body on the side.
It was used for hanging.
On one side beside the hole, there was a shallow drilling scar left for unknown reason...

Ivory netsuke representing a bamboo shoot (takenoko).

Netsuke constitute the major part of Japanese ivory of great quality. Since the Japanese costume (kimono) had no pockets, the objects were passed under the belt and the netsuke, held by a cord, was used to hold them.

From imaginary animals to natural and domestic elements, the subjects represented in netsuke are varied. The netsuke could represent elements of daily life...
