An accomplished member of the Mexico City school of repoussage, maestro M. Velazquez was a contemporary of Matilde Poulat's and many of his designs are actually based on Matl's originals. The level of craftsmanship and the quality of his work have contributed to his becoming increasingly sought after by collectors, especially with the high prices Poulat's creations realize. I love all his pieces but I have a particular affinity for his brooches and this one, I have never seen in the past...

An extraordinary amethyst and silver bracelet by Fred Davis, c 193. The weight and mass of the large rectangular amethyst stones is complimented by the open design of the silver links. I believe this bracelet to be quite rare. It measures 7 3/4" end to end and is 1 1/4" wide. It weighs 88 grams. It is in fine original condition with only a tiny line and ding to the edge of one of the silver rounds. It in no way detracts from the piece. I mention it only for total accuracy. A photo of the area is...

We are offering today an early example of Mexico City Folk art that displays an original design signed JGD. The turquoise is of desirable colors. The amethyst glows with color and the center stones are rare faceted cuts. The wearable length is a comfortable 17 inches. With a width of 1.75 inches and a weight of 180 grams there is a stunning presence. I can not do justice with my photographs of how beautiful this treasure is, just LOOK AT THAT NECKLACE!

A magnificent sterling and turquoise necklace and matching ring by Fred Davis. It is all original and in beautiful condition. The ring is signed but not the necklace so I would always keep it as a set. The ring is a size 6, front measures 1 1/8" long by 3/4" wide. The necklace is spectacular, a collar really, measuring approx. 16 1/2- 17" long. Hard to be exact because it is curved. It is 1 1/2" wide and weighs 148 grams. It is a fabulous set that I believe to be quite rare as I have never seen...

Monumental and rare this vintage sterling silver & amethyst bracelet was designed and signed circa 1930's by Mexico artist Frederick Davis (1880-1961). The bracelet measures 1 3/4" wide X 7" long. Because of the complex construction it would most comfortably fit up to a 6 3/4" wrist. Weight 88 grams, 3.01 oz. Each stone measures 3/4" across. The stones are deep in color with interesting white contrasting occlusions typical of Mexican amethyst. The bracelet is in beautiful vintage condition. The...

William Spratling signed chain necklace is an early first phase masterpiece design. The necklace has a width of one inch wide and 5mm thick. This beauty is fluid in it's motion with a length of 17.25 inches long. The weight is 304 grams of almost pure silver which is visual as a very white silver. The ridge down the center of the chain adds great depth and dimension. . When worn everyone around you will recognize that this is a very special necklace and not an ordinary chain.
