This is a set of traditional lacquer bowls from Thailand. There is a single gold mythical animal, balu-gwin, at the bottom of the inside and a three balu-gwin spaced around the outside. The gold rim with key design surrounds the rim of each of the 5 bowls.
In wonderful condition, each bowl is approx 5 inches wide at the rim and 2.5 inches high.

A finely decorated Vietnamese blue and white porcelain bowl. Thinly potted and with a crackled glaze over blue and white aquatic decoration suggesting waves on the bowl's exterior, a conch shell inside the cavetto and surrounded by a variety of blossoming flowers among grasses. Good condition with expected wear including a couple minor chips inside the foot rim and light abrasion inside the bowl. Diameter at widest point 6 1/8 inches (15.56cm). An ornately worked, chased and engraved jug with dancing Burmese figures in repoussé. The handle in the form of an ogre. The spout might be a later addition, it is only silver plated. A very rare crystal tiger from Burma/Thailand. Crystal was thought to have magical powers and the tiger represents strength. It is unknown how they drilled the holes to make it wearable.As you can see they were drilled at both ends, probably before the crystal was carved.

Antique late 19th century red lacquered wood Hsun-Ok offering vessel from Burma. Size: 27 inches ht. x 15 inches diameter. Probably from Pagan region, with two registers of laid-on decoration below the spire and a series of hand-turned balusters on the pedestal. Minor damage to cover.
Made in mid Java, hammered and chiseled copper or bronze, decorated with a kind of vase with flower branches. Diameter 40,5 cm. Very good condition and lovely patina. Only one tiny hole.

A rare 19th or early 20th century Malayan kris with an attractive pamir/pamor steel blade. The hilt has a (probably replacement) metal collar and a finely carved Garuda head in "kingfisher" form. The wood scabbard is decorated with engraved Straits Chinese style white metal bands depicting Buddhist emblems. There are old losses to the 'flared' top of the scabbard and the left 'ear' of the Garuda head is missing. Unusually there is no damage to the 'nose'. The old blade is in very good condition...
Vietnamese 16th Century Green Glazed Bowl
This rare bowl was made during the 16th century. Apart from the unglazed stacking ring and base it is coated in an apple-green glaze, the depth of colour of which varies according to its thickness. There are small areas around the inner wall where the glaze has not covered but this appears to be unintentional.
