A good black glazed bowl with rounded form and everted lip rim, covered overall with a rich black glaze. Chinese 13th-14th century late Song to Yuan dynasty, South China kiln ware founded in South Sulawesi region. Condition with invisible re-touched a nail chip to rim, further in the good shaped. Nita A ring of skulls playfully sojourn on the front of this rather unusual deep Edo Karatsu Chawan. On back another pair tumble helplessly over the thick speckled glaze. The base is bare earth, dark and shiny with age and handling. The skulls are not just resist painted on, but are actually incised, the eyes and nostrils set deep into the southern clay. The bowl is 3-1/2 inches (8.5 cm) tall, roughly 4 inches (10.5 cm) diameter and is in excellent condition, enclosed in a wooden box.

Gold clouds border a spectacular and rare scene of birds flying amid wisteria (fuji) on this fine 19th century gold screen. The screen is roughly 68 by 148 inches (172 x 376 cm). What a fantastic expression worn by this Edo p. Seto Hand warmer (hibachi or properly Shuro/ Te-abure). The dark shiny Seto glaze suits well the beast portrayed. Coals would have been burned inside, heating the surrounding pottery walls, and the piece would have been placed on a step leading into the house for guests to warm their hands on or used within the house in a more formal room. An extremely rare 'Ge' type glazed bowl, a good rounded form balance potted with everted lip rim, decorated with double crackle irregular iron-black and rust-brown crackle, known in Chinese as 'Jinsi Tiexian' (gold thread and iron wire) stopping neatly above the brown-wash foot base. Description: A big Qingbai bowl was elegantly carved with motifs of dancing boys amid scrolled cloud. Believed as being a product from famed Hutien kiln of Jiangxi province of 9-12th century, the bowl was in pale blue tint and was in very good condition except one faint hairline at the cavetto(about 6.5cm that in half way to the cavetto). A rare found of green glazed 'Kendi' with mammary spout and a dragon in applied relief, base flat unglazed. This kind of ware has been identified with 14th century Tz'u-Tsao kiln ware at Quanzhou Fujian province. Fairly good condition with no any restoration. High: 19.8cm.

Oribe Green runs in a curtain over the pale yellow glaze of this Edo period andon-zara oil dish. It is unglazed on bottom, measuring 8 inches (20 cm) diameter and in excellent condition, enclosed in a custom kiri-wood box.
