A very unusual round Ming huanghuali box with a lid. The lid's center has a burl wood center of huanghuali. It is very rare to see burl wood huanghuali in huanghuali pieces. This is the only one I have ever seen. Size: Diameter: 15.5cm. H: 9 cm. Condition: One old small repair (see photo), a natural age crack on one side (see photo) and a small chip at the bottom rim.

A nice famille jaune bat motive tea cup. It has a Tonzhi seal mark both on the cover and the base of the cup and is of the period.

A minor manufacturing flaw on the cover (photo 2)and five hair lines as shown in the photos 4 and 5. two with stain and the other can be seen at certain angle only. Other than that, it is in fine condition, no chip or repair.

The height of the tea cup is 9cm and the diameter is 11.2cm

A nicely carved natural amber pendant of the hand of Buddha citron with a hole at the top so it can be worn as a pendant. The citron fruit may be given as a religious offering in Buddhist temples. According to tradition, Buddha prefers the "fingers" of the fruit to be in a position where they resemble a closed rather than open hand, as closed hands symbolize to Buddha the act of prayer. Size: H. 3.7cm. W. 2cm. Condition: No repairs, chips or cracks.

Description: A Ming Longquan Li-typed censer was kept in very fine condition. Well mold and heavily glazed, the tripod censer was in typical lake-green tint when whitish ridges were on the body along everted feet. Charming crackles, pinpoints condition and darken hue in portions verified it a true old piece. Brownish red was obvious in the center of the cavetto where the body clay was revealed...

A blue & white large dish, decorated to the center with a deer in landscape, found only on this Swatow family, the sides decorated with a diaper border in Jiajing style. Exterior with floral pattern, adhere to the foot rim with sand grit as known as typically of Zhangzhou ware products, Ming dynasty late 16th to early 17th century. Condition is two flake chip at rim (one visible on enlargement 4), no any crack and free from restoration. Diameter: 27.5cm.

A blue & white small dish, decorated to the center with phoenix and bamboo, found only on this Swatow family, the sides decorated with four flower windows and diaper border in Jiajing style. Exterior is plain, adhere to the foot rim with sand grit known as typically of Zhangzhou ware products, Ming dynasty late 16th to early 17th century. Condition is perfect with fine glaze, except a bit warped. Diameter: 18.3cm.

This pair of Kingfisher hair ornaments are from my personal collection. The kingfisher bird feathers are in very good condition and the ornaments are 4 inches across at their widest point. Each piece has its original hair pin attached to the paper back with a wire.

The kingfisher bird feathers were a favorite item used to decorate ornaments for both hair and clothing, usually hats and headbands. The earliest ornaments had large feathered areas which were glued to a paper/cardboard back...

A large natural amber snuff bottle with carved coral tiles of stylized dragon heads on both sides. The amber is intricately carver on all sides. Size: H. 7cm. W. 4.8cm. Condition: No repairs.

A b/w dish with finely potted, painted with a horse in background landscape of prunus, bamboo, rock and lingzhi/fungus, encircling to foliated lip rim with waves pattern. Underside with continuous flower scrolls. Ming dynasty early 16th century Hongzhi phase. Condition restored to a nail chip on rim area, no crack and further in overall good condition. Diameter: 25cm.

A cricket cage made of a long bodied gourd with ivory mounts to accommodate the ivory and tortoise shell lid. The surface of the gourd has a leathery look from age. The tortoise shell piece has intricate pierced carvings of the "Eight Taoist Symbols" amidst curling tendril patterns. Period: Ching (19th Century)

Description: A Yinquing ewer or water dropper was kept with its original cap. Produced from Jindezheng of Jiangxi province, it was an exquisite Qingbai(bluish white) porcelain manufactured in one of the Hutien kilns. On the surface, when motifs of flowers were framed with 16 different sectors, subtle pinhead incursions were randomly spread in the bluish glaze. It happened to the surface of the cap too. Characteristic chalk-feel body clay was revealed at the bottom...

A Rare and nice molded Dragon celadon dish,decorated with clear dragon motif,inner wall with carving weave motif, outer wall with rising lotus petal motif, dish covered with green glaze.Dish is in good condition,it just has very small glaze chip at the rim,no crack,free from any restorations. Dish semi porcelain(no high ping sound). Size: 36 cm diameter.

A rare example of Ming polychrome bowl, decorated outside with continuous chrysanthemum scroll, inside the center with a fish among water weeds within double circle and four clouds pattern on cavetto wall, all under original overglaze red and green enamel. Ming dynasty 16th century Zhengde-Jiajing period. Condition is damaged with glue repaired like indicated on the pictures. Excavated found at South-Sulawesi. Diameter: 22cm.

A lovely small drum-shape jarlet, decorated with two blossoms of chrysanthemum scroll divided by two horizontal ring handles. Yuan dynasty 13th-14th century. Condition is perfect with no chip, no crack and free from any restoration, unfortunate always found with missing cover. Diameter maximum : 7.2cm and High: 5.1cm.

A large Ming style b/w bowl, decorated to the exterior vividly with 12 blossoms of continuously flower scrolls, the interior is plain. Dated early 18th century or possibly earlier. Found at South-Sulawesi. Condition with several flake chips two hairlines restored, details as two flake chips to interior and two for exterior, further in good condition. Diameter: 26cm and High: 11.8cm. Note: Condition report pictures before restoration available on request.

A finely large 'Guan' jar with thickly and well balance potted, decorated to the upper part with lobed sides and incised flower scrolls, bottom surrounded by lotus petals rising from foot rim. Covered overall with a good olive green glaze and flawlessly as well. Yuan dynasty 14th century Longquan ware. Condition is excellent, just unfortunately the lid has been missing. High: 21.4cm, Mouth diameter: 24cm, Foot rim: 20cm and Wide maximum body: 30.3cm.

A well painted late 19th Century Chinese Moon Flask decorated with scrolling lotus design and with panels on each side depicting two confronting dragons. There are two 'chilong' dragons on the shoulders. This item was made during the reign of the Guangxu emperor (1875-1908). Condition - there is a 4cm (1.5 inch) hairline running from the rim and an old chip to the back of one of the chilong dragons...

A slim rectangular box of huanghuali wood with original brass hardware. Over a two-part round lock plate is a cloud-shaped hasp. The four corners on top also have cloud-shaped protective/decorative brass. Period: 17th Century Size: Height = 10.5 cm, Length = 35.2 cm, Depth = 17 cm. Condition: Some old age cracks.
