This saddle has ornate silver and cloisonne detailing. The basic wood saddle tree is covered with leather and the edges are rimmed with strips of silver metal with colorful floral enameling. Addition large flat buttons of silver and cloisonne are sewn to the leg flaps and are also used on the saddle seat to keep the original Tibetan rug saddle pad in place.

Saddle comes with custom made stand.

A slim rectangular box of huanghuali wood with original brass hardware. Over a two-part round lock plate is a cloud-shaped hasp. Description: A terracotta amulet or Tsa-Tsa of Tibet was preserved well in a fine condition. By a mold image of Shakyamuni Buddha who in the earth-witness gesture on the front, gold pigment was applied including the drapery throne when faded red and darken purplish pigment were left to the background. Clear reticulate grains were on the back side. Date: 18th century, Tibet. Height: 8.2cm, Depth: 1.6cm(base).

Description: A dish-mouthed bottle vase from Yue kiln of Zhejiang province was preserved in perfect condition. In a fine greenish tint, the bottle’s glaze was evenly applied nearing to the edge of the bottom. Through enduring age, the glaze was kept in a fine and stable condition when sophisticated and retrospective luster was reflected in a charming look. This Chinese pipe is from the Miao Ethnic Minority group in the vicinity of Rong Jiang. My Miao friends insist that this pipe would have been used for smoking tobacco and not opium. Made from silver alloy, the stem design has the two dragons chasing the center pearl.

A chaozhu made of pierced and enameled silver or silver plated metal filigree beads. 90 small beads with crane design between three large "Buddha's head" beads. Three strings each with 10 dark beads ending in a teardrop bead. The tape which hung down the back with an oblong plaque between a double gourd and a teardrop bead. Dimension: 112 cm long. Weight: 174 gram. Condition: traces of usage: several beads with enamel loss, perhaps some beads missing.

Description: A white-glazed tea caddy was rarely found with an original cap. Preserved in a very good condition, the capped jar was in plain form without any decoration. Firing effect was obviously revealed in the body clay. It is a fine piece for the storage of some fine tea or a decent vase-like jar on the shelf too. A pimpled toad looks to the sky exhaling a clouded spirit, a truly superb version of this theme in deep caramel bronze dating from the Meiji period. It is an interesting theme, the ugly creature elevated to the status of saint. Judging by color and quality, we attribute this as the work of Kanaya Gorosaburo (1836-1890), a bronze artist of Kyoto fond of this color and known for his superb modeling and detail. A white jade of two frolicking animals "kissing" muzzle-to-muzzle. The smaller animal has a little curly tail while the larger one has a long tail going up against its back with a curl at the tip. An antique cast bronze waniguchi bell or gong, the type used to hang in front of places of prayer and under temple eaves dated 1710. Often these can be found hanging over saisen-bako where the bell is rung by clanging a dangling rope with wooden corbel against the bell to awaken the gods; coins are tossed and a prayer given. Anyone who has been to a Japanese Temple or Shrine may have noticed one. A much thinner cast than the later bell we are offering

A rare, large and beautifully carved scholar's item made of huanghuali and carved with flower vases and a censer as the center piece, with the original hardware.The outer frame could be huanghuali or huali. It is unusual to find these wall decorations in huanghuali. Size: L. 86cm. W. 35cm Age: Late Ming, early Ching piece. Condition: No repairs. This charming doll is wonderfully detailed. She is all cloth with embroidered face features, beaded necklace and matching headband and thread hair. She is wearing a long under slip. Her dress is has multiple layers of gathered bands of fabric, and is topped with a full length apron which ties in the back.

Held in a private collection for the past 20+ years, she is in excellent condition and stands over 15" high.

An extremely rare pair of original 18th century elm wood lacquered folding chairs. All the parts are original including the original lacquer. Only replacements were the hardware in the folding joints as the originals had rusted out. The back panel has an open- work floral design with a cloud design on the upper and lower panels. This is a very beautiful multi-colour Peking glass vase representing longevity. Starting from the cover, the finial is in the form of a close lotus bud in cobalt blue. Surrounding it are butterflies inter-twaining with the clouds. On the body of the vase, it is represented by a collar of ruyi around the mouth of the vase, in cobalt blue colour. This Tibetan gau (aka prayer box) is actually a small shrine. When not being worn as an ornament during festivals, it would be kept in the prayer niche of the family home. An unusual stone weight with a young boy riding a foo dog. The corners each have little foo dogs playing with their ball. The base has a key fret design. An old stone box was beautifully carved on the cover with a five-clawed swirling Dragon and with cloud pattern at the basin.
By a well rendered craftsmanship, the covered box was in a magnificent mood by its astonishing image.
Kept in perfect condition and darken patina, there’re only minor defects found at the whiskeys and at one of the corners of the cover.

Very dramatic deeply concave oval shaped African shield from Ethiopia. The animal hide is scraped free of hair and then placed over a shaped board with protrusions which will allow for greater protection in warding off blows. The edge is tightly rolled and there are added tool marks for heightened decoration. The handle is tied and knotted into place at a slight angle to allow for a more comfortable hold.

Description: A boxwood ruler was preserved very well when edges were smoothened off due to long time of use. What interestingly found were picturesque motifs like plum flowers and magpies were carved on both surfaces along with the regular counting marks. Date: Qing Dynasty(late 19th century.)
