A large vase by Takahashi Dohachi and decorated by Hashimoto Dokuzan enclosed in the original wooden box signed by both artists. Also, stored in a separate compartment is a wooden stand which appears to have once been part of a temple or altar. The vase is covered in a typical crackled Kyo-yaki glaze, and decorated in cobalt with two figures in a watery landscape, one fishing, the other on top of a stone playing the flute...

Fine antique Japanese carved wood and gilt lacquer Buddha and shrine 19th century. Professional repair to the back of shrine otherwise very fine condition. Measuring 9 inches tall and 3.5 inches wide.

An antique wood statue of the Boddhisattva Wei Tuo, the guardian of the Buddhist principles, dating to the late Qing dynasty. Carved in two parts with gilding and red color. He is standing on a rock imitating base, dressed as a warrior and holding the vajra staff. Condition: one hand with tiny losses, parts of scarf missing, top of helmet with a lost insert, vajra staff, one hand and back with glued patches. Dimension: total height: 38.5 cm, figure: 31.5 cm, weight: 1300 g.

Made in mid Java, hammered and chiseled copper or bronze, decorated with a kind of vase with flower branches. Diameter 40,5 cm. Very good condition and lovely patina. Only one tiny hole.

Attractive folk art Buddha with most of it's original painting intact. Made in Sri Lanka in the 19th or early 20th century. H. 55 cm. Condition: some age cracks, some wear to the painting, traces of light repainting (face seems to be touched up a bit), one finger repaired. Overall in a very good condition.

Beautifully and artfully sculpted, this shaman, or sukia, sits with arms crossed on knees, smoking, in the traditional pose of these precolumbian figures from the region that now encompasses Costa Rica. Dating to the period 800-1400AD, it is in very good condition, with some loss to the toes on the right foot, and has some patinization from being handled, in addition to mineral encrustation. The lava stone is reddish gray, and the surface is mottled, as is the case with such stone...

Chinese Qing dynasty Qianlong period geyao type shallow bowl covered overall with a fine crackle glaze on a creamy white ground. The high foot rim is glazed on the exterior. The recessed base is glazed and the glaze extends part way up the inner side of the inward slanting foot where it ends with an orange burn line.
