An exquisite example with a floral design motif on a gold foil background. Made with silver wire and I believe the box binding is sliver although tarnished. Measuring 4 x 3 x 2 1/4 inches in excellent condition no damage. This would be a fine addition to and collection.

Produced probably from Fujian kiln, this beautiful black bowl was preserved with original charming glaze condition only with one minor glaze defect on the mouth rim. This is a medium-size Liao dynasty (907–1125A.D.) moulded polychrome earthenware plate with leaded glaze. It rests on a short foot rim, a flat everted base before rounding up. It has a simple floral motive. On the underside, the glaze is in dark olive green with the glaze flow stopped short at about just before the short foot rim exposing a light greyish white earthenware.

There is no repair or restoration...

This is a Song dynasty (960 – 1276 A.D.) white glaze stem cup. It rest on a flared foot rising inwards to a short neck and then towards a everted u-shaped cup. It has a simple abstract cloud like wave motive between two bands of lines. On the underside, the white glaze flow stopped short at about half way down the stem exposing the light buff colour stoneware. A nice piece.

There is no repair or restoration. No chip or crack...

This is a Song dynasty (960 – 1276 A.D.) Henan splashed bowl in Russet brown colour. It is conical in shape with a flared rim, supported on a very short foot. The centre of the bowl is covered with lustrous black glaze with splashed brown streak radiating from the centre. Fierce looking old Samurai ningyo (Japanese doll) in rare museum quality. His head is carved wood and the face resembles kabuki actors or Jyoruri ningyo (18th to 19th century puppet theater dolls) from the Edo period (1603-1868). It is definitely a work of art.

The Suoh, the outfit that the doll is wearing, was worn by different ranking samurais at various periods in history. The fabric is made out of Asa (Japanese hemp) and the rest is silk...

This is a blue and white brush rest for a scholar study. The brush rest is manufactured in the likeness of blue and white wares on which Arabic and Persian inscriptions appear during the reign of emperor Cheng-Te, Ming dynasty. The painting is like a scroll work know as the “Muhammadan scrolls” with inter-twining foliage.

An Arabic inscription is found on both sides of the brush rest, in the centre of the brush rest, in a diamond shape medallion...
