A Changsha bowl was painted in the cavetto with motif of bird and water weeds. Maneuvered by deft brush strokes, the picture was vividly rendered with simple lines. The bowl was heavily potted and was revealed with rough-feel body clay underside. The characteristic disk-like foot ring was well shaped. An ovoid covered jar was in a decent size of 31cm in height.
In a perfect condition and owned the original cap, the ancient ware was uniquely decorated on top and on the body with whitish splashes.
The vessel stands on a small, solid foot with flat bottom.
Applied with dark tea-dust slip on most of the surface, the grayish white body clay was revealed underneath.
Enduring old clay verified its date.
