Vintage Art Deco Bauhaus style demi-parure in chrome, the early plastic Galalith, and so-called "Peking glass" beads simulating jade, by the German maker Jakob Bengel. This set dates from the early 1930s. The wrapped chrome elements are the same as those in a necklace pictured on page 162 of the Jakob Bengel monograph by Christianne Weber.

The large pale yellow and green marbled beads are Galalith, which is an early plastic similar to Bakelite, which was used primarily in Europe...

Vintage 1930s French Art Deco Bakelite bangle bracelet with applied metal seahorses and faux glass based pearls. Tests positive for Bakelite using Simichrome and 409. Unsigned, made by JHP Paris, which is very well known for its distinctive Bakelite and metal jewelry featuring whimsical animals, most often seahorses. I have owned several marked French pieces.

The beads in this necklace are tiny, interestingly shaped and delicate. Yet the effect of the necklace is dramatic. It can be worn short or long depending upon where the clasp is placed on the extender. Miriam Haskell plaque is on the back and Miriam Haskell stamp is on the flower clasp. Large Chinese famille rose porcelain jardiniere with wide mouth and flattened rim enameled in bright pigments with a figural scene extending around the circumference. Diaper pattern band below rim. Unglazed foot and base. Original drain hole and plug. Late Qing dynasty (19th century) to possibly early Republican period. 13"H x 15 1/4" diameter. Weighs about 15 lbs. Very good overall condition with no chips or cracks. Some soiling to the interior from use.

A large and nice jun yao bowl of sky blue colour. It stands on a short recessed foot rin and then everted upwards towards a slightly straighten side and then towards the rim it folds slightly inwards. There is a slight colour variation between the actual bowl glaze and the photograph taken.

Handsome Miriam Haskell bracelet was probably created to honor the Egyptian Antiquities Show held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in the 1970's. The bracelet is adjustable thus fitting many wrist sizes (see attachment pictures). The mesh chain is 9" long. The elegant three dimensional pharoah-head clasp measures 1 1/2" by 1 1/4". Haskell's oval cartouche is on the clasp.
