Vintage Art Deco Bauhaus style demi-parure in chrome, the early plastic Galalith, and so-called "Peking glass" beads simulating jade, by the German maker Jakob Bengel. This set dates from the early 1930s. The wrapped chrome elements are the same as those in a necklace pictured on page 162 of the Jakob Bengel monograph by Christianne Weber.

The large pale yellow and green marbled beads are Galalith, which is an early plastic similar to Bakelite, which was used primarily in Europe...

Very big vintage 1940s Elliot Handler designed Elzac figural brooch in glazed ceramic backed with lime green Lucite, with metallic raffia braid, and two blue Lucite beads at top and bottom. This exact piece, in a different color combination, is pictured on page 197 of the Brunialtis' "A Tribute to America" with a 1943 Elliot Handler patent reference cited...

Vintage 1930s French Art Deco Bakelite bangle bracelet with applied metal seahorses and faux glass based pearls. Tests positive for Bakelite using Simichrome and 409. Unsigned, made by JHP Paris, which is very well known for its distinctive Bakelite and metal jewelry featuring whimsical animals, most often seahorses. I have owned several marked French pieces.

This piece is beautiful, in a great width and in a marbled butterscotch or peanut butter color Bakelite...

As the enlightened man is a product of this world so too the Lotus grows in the mire, a symbol of the attainable state of Nirvana. Here is a breathtaking hand-made bronze Koro in the shape of a blossoming lotus in deep red patination dating from the late Edo to Meiji period (mid to late 19th century). Consisting of 30 individual pieces, each petal is uniquely incised with veins by the hammer and chisel of some long lost craftsman...

The beads in this necklace are tiny, interestingly shaped and delicate. Yet the effect of the necklace is dramatic. It can be worn short or long depending upon where the clasp is placed on the extender. Miriam Haskell plaque is on the back and Miriam Haskell stamp is on the flower clasp. Shortest bead strand is 11 1/2", necklace is 27 1/2" end to end.

The red/orange squares are translucent. The black squares are opaque. This wide and chunky bracelet is showy. It is new, plastic and unsigned. It is 1 7/8" high with 2 1/2" inside diameter.It has a nice wall.

Description: A magnificent wood ShuanTien( The Northern God) was finely carved in 13th-15th Century. Clad in sophisticated motifs on the robe, the deity sit easily with one arm(which had been lost) resting on the raised lap. It was an excellent traditional carving piece. With flouring lines of the robe, the softness and naturalistics of the flesh of the revealed toes and the torso under robe were vividly rendered...

Large Chinese famille rose porcelain jardiniere with wide mouth and flattened rim enameled in bright pigments with a figural scene extending around the circumference. Diaper pattern band below rim. Unglazed foot and base. Original drain hole and plug. Late Qing dynasty (19th century) to possibly early Republican period. 13"H x 15 1/4" diameter. Weighs about 15 lbs. Very good overall condition with no chips or cracks. Some soiling to the interior from use.

A large and nice jun yao bowl of sky blue colour. It stands on a short recessed foot rin and then everted upwards towards a slightly straighten side and then towards the rim it folds slightly inwards. There is a slight colour variation between the actual bowl glaze and the photograph taken.

A charming set of Pfaltzgraff Muggsy Mugs, all six of the original characters. These are the early characters with protruding features from the 1940's to early 1950's. Handsome Herman, Flirty Gertie, Cockeyed Charlie, Sleepy Sam, Pickled Pete, Jerry the Jerk; they're all here. Each mug is hand painted, so no two are exactly alike. There are no chips, cracks or repairs on any of these mugs...

The is a rare, old, long Chinese lock necklace with coral beads and matching amber drops. The handmade upper chain leads to a lower strand of very small silver beads, with 4 pumpkin shaped coral beads alternating with 5 silver balls on each side. From each side of the beaded chain is a short chain ending with male and female ducks which represent a long and happy marriage. The medallion is 4" wide and 3.5" long with numerous beautifully articulated images...

Description: A Jun bowl with intriguing purple splashes inside and out of the bowl was molded in unique straight-wall type. In absolute Zen spirit, it was an ancient prototype of Chawan. Without exaggerate addition of purple glaze, the subtle purple strokes yielded by firing effects and the beautiful proportion exemplified the true beauty of the wares of early periods.Other than that, the introspective luster was convincing for a real Jun ware...

Description: An exquisite bamboo carving depicted a smiling boy holding a basket which has fishes in it. In fantastic carving skill, the piece was added with more attraction by it's aged patina. It was preserved in perfect condition without any defects. From the characteristics of the carving, the piece was dated as of 19th century. Height: 10cm, Depth: 9.5cm, Width: 8.9cm

Handsome Miriam Haskell bracelet was probably created to honor the Egyptian Antiquities Show held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in the 1970's. The bracelet is adjustable thus fitting many wrist sizes (see attachment pictures). The mesh chain is 9" long. The elegant three dimensional pharoah-head clasp measures 1 1/2" by 1 1/4". Haskell's oval cartouche is on the clasp.
