The 100 Bird Cape is sometimes mistaken by Westerners as a Miao baby carrier. In fact, the 100 bird cape is a man's garment. It would be worn on the back, over the 100 bird coat for special festivals. They are somewhat rare. Not all men could afford (actually the wives) the time and matterials to make such a garment. A small (under 2 inches diameter) antique Chinese blue and white porcelain covered cosmetic or seal paste box. Rabbit decoration in cobalt on white slip centered on the cover. An otherwise translucent glaze with faint celadon pooling over the top and bottom with ribbed sides suggesting petals of a lotus blossom. Probably late Ming or transitional. A very rare and beautifully carved blackwood table. The carvings represent good luck symbols with key fret designs,lingzhi fungus, floral, tendril, and coins. The front and the back are a mirror images of each other, and the two sides also have mirror image carvings on both ends. The legs are straight and not curved as seen in the wide angle photo. A pair of Jizhou tiger toys were excavated in original condition.
It is very hard to find genuine Jizhou wares with tortoisshell glaze.
It was unique too to find them in pairs even though they're dolls.
And most importantly they were in obvious condition for authentication.
The buried deposits were firmly left here and there on the surface.
And the glaze were partially crackled due to age.
The body clay were light brownish with soft matrix quality...

Description: A rare and lovely Yaozhou russet-glazed incense burner was in simple form. Wide-mouthed and with high-set shoulders when the neck is narrowed and the lip is rolled, the jarlet was applied with persimmon glaze inside and out of the surface. The bottom was flat and was concaved to a round circle. The unglazed base had turned to a buff skin during firing, and in a firm quality which were all the characteristics for a Yaozhou ware. Date: Song period(11th/12th Century), Height: 6.6cm

This is a Chinese Blanc de Chine libation cup, on a stand of molded branches, the exterior carved and molded with flowering prunus branches; 3 " high, 5" wide.

Description:

A Cizhou tea bowl was in decent oval shape and was well decorated with russet splashes on the outer surface.
At the inner surface, it was in darken brownish nearing black tint when spiral molding scars were obviously observed.

For authentication, there are whitish and stardust-like incursions revealed especially obvious at the inner surface of the bowl...

A very rare Ming hair ornament made of four jade goldfish and a cicada held together by gold wiring made up of a butterfly and floral design. It originally had turquoise colored king fish feathers inlaid in the design.It also has the original metal wiring holding it together. Size: H. 5.5cm. W. 5cm. Jades average 2 cm. Condition: Normal ageing on the metal parts.

An old jadeite bracelet of Qing Dynasty was unusually discovered from excavation.
Aside from other jadeite pieces which we usually see that in green or tri-colors, this jadeite bracelet was originally in pure white quality with least tissues observed.
During long time of burial the jadeite's surface was incursioned to a foggy but greasy-feel patina which was a phenomenon only the nephrite jade would yield...

A recumbent beast was shown with its head turned back and slightly tilting upwards.
The Bixie was well carved with protruding eyes, ruyi-shaped nose, curved ears and single-horned head.
By vividly depicted ribs on its abdomen and the flouring hairs of the tails, the fairy beast was rest on the flat bottom in plain form-an important characteristic for early jade carvings.

Description: A Qingbai bottle vase was finely molded. Based on the glaze tint and the body clay's quality, the Meiping vase was justified as a product from the kilns of Fujian Province of Song Dynasty. Pinpoint glaze holes and residues within them were found on the surface. Faint crackles were spread under the glaze. By a simple and beautiful shape, the Meiping was in perfect condition without any restorations. Date: Song Dynasty,(11th-12th century). Height: 15.6cm.
