A large wooden lidded box of rectangular shape. The surfaces all finely inlaid with micro-mosaic of colored wood, brass and bone, forming stellar motifs. The cover with four Islamic inscriptions set in oblong cartouches inlaid in bone and reserved on a dark wood veneer. All with a lacquer finishing, shining golden. Measuring 2 1/2" high, and 1 3/4'" wide, this lac burgaute snuff bottle is capped with a green stone holding an ivory spoon. With very precise and fine details, the body is decorated with sections of geometric designs of both gold inlay and colored mother of pearl. The central area contains floral and foliate designs, also in gold with mother of pearl pieces of pink, green, and blue. The base has an inlaid mark of gold...

Decorated with Fo dogs, typical for the Jiajing period (1522-1566). H. 17 cm. The lid also dates from the Ming Dynasty but was matched with the jar. Condition: the jar is in very good condition, the lid has a chip.

Description:

A white jade Houtien jade pebble was capped to a silver ring.
By pure and greasy-feel quality, the jade was in mutton white and slight celadon tint.
Inscriptions of Guang-xu Nien Zhi (Made in Guang-xu reign)was found underside. They were well carved by regular scripts.
Motifs of a dragon and a phoenix were decorated on each side.

Date: Qing Dynasty,late 19th century.

A woven red silk and silver thread brocade panel with a dense pattern of botehs. Bordered with a differently brocaded fabric, green silk lining. Composed of two panels. Condition: wear, a small brand hole. Dimension: 63 cm x 64 cm.

The exterior of the bowl is plain. This piece is decorated on the inside with a moulded design of floral. Unglaze base. Width= 12 cm. Yuan dynasty 13th Century. Condition : Excellent, no hairline, crack, chip or restoration.

A good small vase in pear-shaped form, decorated incised to the body with floral sprays motif. Southern Song dynasty Jindezhen ware. Condition is good excepted no chips, cracks, hairlines and free from restoration. High: 10 cm.

Tang (618-906) Kendi glazed by green colour with spout and garlic head form . Unglazed base. Width = 13.5 cm Height – 13 cm Condition : repaired on the spout and small chips on the rim.

A nice small qingpai funerary powder box in the shape of the lotus flower in three small pod. The flowers petals has dropped off showing the base of the flowers.

In good condition with the exception of some expected abrasion and manufacturing faults as shown in the photographs. Some rough edges and minute sand grits on the cover. No damage, crack, chip or any restoration.

The height is about 4.3cm and the width is about 10.2cm

A beautiful Mandarin square dating from the early Jiaqing period. A male back buzi with a silver pheasant bird, denoting the fifth civil rank. On dark silk entirely embroidered in Peking knot, blue silk lining. Reference: Ladder to the Clouds, Jackson & Hugus Berkeley 1999, Page 250 - No. 15.032 very similar badge. Condition: good - slightly impure, the back lining with some water stains. Dimensions: 29,2 cm high x 30,5 cm wide.

A finely mold Junyao Meiping was in decent form.
It was decorated on the surface with characteristic and favored purple splashes.
Obviously unearthed from burial, the bottle was found on the surface with harden adhesives when wiring glaze crackles were yielded in a charming way.

In a round shape, the ware was applied with characteristic triple colors(usually as brown, yellow and green) on the upper half of the surface, and left on the lower portion of the basin unglazed...

This seated figure, a Lohan or Scholar, is very nicely modeled, with good detail and form. It measures 3 3/8" high x 2 5/8" wide and is covered in a soft turquoise colored glaze, which is translucent, and varied in intensity of color, being deeper colored where the glaze has pooled. there are very tiny dark spots apparent in the glaze, some more visible on back and shoulders...

Jar, with rounded sideds decorated outside with lotus scroll, Ru'i lappet on the shoulder and a band of small circles around the foot. Unglazed base. This is a bee hive shaped waterpot. It is sometimes referred to taibo zun or qizhao zun(chicken coop) in Chinese because of the shape. The domed shaped body has a countersunk base, with three incised roundel of scrolling kui dragons just about visible just beneath the beach bloom glaze accented with splashes of pink and a minute sprinkle apple or lime green. This antique Japanese tea caddy is called a "Cha-ire" and dates from the late Edo period. It was used for storing thick tea which is called "Koicha". The more common tea caddy form or "natsume" was used for powdered or thin tea. The chai-ire forms vary somewhat and were most typically made from clay.
