This is the hard cover by Dillingham Press, Ojai, California, and likely the first edition. There is no dust jacket; cover shows some, but very minimal, use. Small, round covered box for keeping incense, kogo in Japanese, in the shape of a coiled snaked. It’s head is in the center of the cover, protruding. Gray, coarse stoneware with small inclusions, the outside turned brown from the heat in the kiln. Eyes are inlaid rings of clay, giving the snake a slightly goofy expression.

Large bottle shaped vase by Cynthia Bringle (American, born 1939). In excellent condition. Signed "Bringle" on the bottom. 10 1/2" high. Artist and ceramicist Cynthia Bringle has lived and worked in Penland North Carolina, where she has her studio and gallery, since 1970. Her works are in the collections of the Asheville Art Museum, the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, the Mint Museum in Charlotte NC, etc.

Elegant Hagi hanging vase with a variety of colors from grey-blue to creamy white and lavender by master potter; Ono Zuiho. This hanging vase is made of a rich iron clay from Kyushu with a creamy slip and ash glaze over the piece.

Ono Zuiho is considered to be one of the 20th centuries most important Hagi potters. His work was not only traditional and geared toward chadogu, tea ceremony implements, but much of his work has a modern flare to it...

By the important bi-coastal art pottery makers and teachers VIVIKA and OTTO HEINO, a large ceramic pot, 11 3/4" diameter by 10 3/4", signed in the wet clay underneath VIVIKA + OTTO, and dated there with what appears to be "70" or "90". The beautiful pot is of a beautiful gentle color, and blaze glaze design makes for a simple and elegant work indeed. A gohonte plate depicting an umbrella and two maple leaves by famous Kyoto potter Imai Masayuki 今井政之 (1930-2023). So rare and beautiful: Arita Tenmoku Tea Bowl by greatest Living National Treasure Inoue Manji. Most of his work is made of white porcelain, and only very few have the wonderful Tenmoku glaze. We are very proud to present one of his rare masterpieces. It comes with the originally signed and sealed wooden box, a sealed cloth and a profile of him. He named the tea bowl "Tenmoku Macchawan".

Celadon tea cup with corded patterns glazed in the Jômon zogan style made by Tatsuzô Shimaoka (1919-2007, Mingei school). Exceptional stoneware vase that was subtly and expertly faceted, glazed in a rich nuka style glaze and decorated in Tale of Genji inspired partridges in platinum lustre. The presence and volume of the pot are hard to put in to perspective with the dimensions, 12" x 8.5" and a guinomi has been placed in the last photo to give a sense of the scale. Rich in concept and execution, this vase is an exemplary example of Showa era pottery made sometime around 1980.
