Large, robust Shigaraki chaire by internationally recognized potter, Kanzaki Shiho. Fired for 10 days in an anagama kiln, this Shigaraki chaire has a wonderful coating of ash with some rich hi-iro fire color on the back and foot. The chaire is signed on the foot and comes complete with its shifuku, silk bag, lid and signed box. The chaire measures 8cm x 7.6cm and is in its original condition.

An early work by the important Shino potter Katō Yasukage XIV 14 代加藤康景 (1964-2012), made as Katō Masaharu 加藤正治, a name he used before ascending to a family name in 2001. A twelve petal chrysanthemum is depicted on the lid. Titled Shino Incense Container (Shino kōgō 志野香合), it is made of glazed stoneware, and is 3.4 x 5.8 x 5.6 cm. An illegible signature is on the bottom of the piece that dates to Heisei Period, mid 1990s...

Silver ray-skin texture covers this fabulous Katakuchi sake pot by Ichikawa Toru enclosed in the original signed wooden box. Mint Oni-Hagi masterpiece chawan with notched foot by star potter Seigan Yamane. This extraordinary tea bowl is covered by wonderful different shades of green and purple glaze on brown pottery. In my opinion it is the one of the most aesthetic chawans that he made. The seal of the artist is stamped on the bottom. We have a similar chawan with orange-red glaze - same price.

Seigan Yamane was born in 1952, and started making Hagi ware in 1987...

An unusual lacquered flower vase, hanaike, by the eminent bamboo artist Tanabe Chikuunsai II ( 1919~2000 ). The black lacquered bamboo vase is decorated in vermillion lacquer with a sago palm and is also signed. The vase is complete with its original blue cotton bag and a signed and inscribed box.
