A terrific pair of earrings in the form of round shakudo plaques set in 14K yellow gold borders. Each of the matching Meiji-period discs features a Japanese immortal or scholar along with a fearsome dragon. Details of the dragon’s scales and fins and the man’s staff are picked out in gold and copper highlights. The gold borders are simply decorated with a ropetwist motif. This is typical fine work by Hobe. The leaves and bow are layered. The roses go a step further by having individual petals wrap to form a circle just as real roses do. The semi-triangular plaque with the rectangular bottom marked Hobe, sterling, 1/20 14k, indicates that this brooch is lovely older Hobe dating between 1918 and 1932. 3" long.1 1/2" wide. 1/2" deep.

I love the old hand made flies. They are so realistic and these are in 2 sizes. One is 1.75in. long and 1.25in. wide. This one is a pre-1948 980 TAXCO hallmark and weighs 6 grams heavy. Lovely antique necklace of carved round coral beads in dark salmon. Circa 1920 - 1940. The coral is undyed Mediterranean. Continuous strand with no clasp. Many pieces of turkmen "jewelry" were sewn to clothing as amulets. This rare teke turkomen pendant was originally worn as a necklace and still has the original leather neckstrap. This piece has 5 flat carnelians and gold wash or "fireguilded" detail. The pendant is 6 inches across and 10 inches long.

Hector Aguilar and his old maguey bracelet is a must for every collector. At 1.25in. tall and 95 grams of weight the design has a commanding presence. It is thick and the higher content of silver makes it's rounded edges feel silky smooth. Appropriately hallmarked as shown with eagle and a pin closure. The length is 7in. wearable. The color enhanced deep lavender jade is set in sterling silver mounts into which tiny faceted hematite stones have been inset. Each jade link has been joined by a silver Chinese character. The silver clasp likewise has a cut Chinese character and has two safety catches on each side as well.

This beautiful turquoise necklace is comprised of disk shaped turquoise beads, spaced with black glass beads. It has been recently re-strung and is ready for wear. It has a new sterling silver toggle clasp. The strand measures approximately 23" long. The beads are graduated and measure approximately 3/4" in diameter at the largest; and 1/4" at the smallest. It is in excellent condition and the overall weight is 227.5 grams.

A pair of geometric modernist sterling silver bangles, by Danish silversmith Helge Arthur Bang. Bang worked only for a short period (1962-73) and his works are rare. A fine Victorian 14K yellow gold watch fob pendant featuring a 23.5-carat oval brilliant cut amethyst nested in the coiled tail and wings of a ferocious dragon. A wonderful early Victorian portrait locket worked in gilt silver and set with hundreds of Bohemian garnets, including a 10.2-carat rose cut oval at the center. The garnets are set with space between them to lighten the overall effect and better show the bright red coloring of the stones. The locket is suspended from a garnet-encrusted clover shaped bail. This pretty ring consists of a flower made of six pearl “petals” (one of which is a replacement), centered by a tiny rose cut diamond. There is a compartment underneath, perhaps for storing a lock of hair, but no glass. The ring tests as a very strong 14kt, so it is probably 15kt (and therefore English).
