A very rare and beautiful lithograph in full color by artist R.Knötel,of the hero’s of the Boer War with the names of the armies from Southern African Nations. Frame measuring 13x16”

The Melton Breakfast circa 1800, First published by Hodgson & Graves, Pall Mall, on 1st October 1839. The dimensions of this photogravure differ somewhat from those of the original mezzotint and the names of the characters portrayed are engraved in the margin of this later version. The print depicts a group of eminent visitors to Melton for the hunting season. Many were guests at the big houses in the locality, others lodged elsewhere...

An example of the scarce "sur blanc" lithograph prints of famed French caricaturist and satirist artist HONORE DAUMIER (1808-1879), the 1851 print from the "Actualites" series, and Le Charivari. It is beautifully hand colored, with gum arabic highlights in the dark areas of the central figure's robe. Not examined out of the frame, it appears very clean and fresh (happy to examine out of frame upon request)...

Lithograph on paper by American artist STOW WENGENROTH (1905-1978), with blind stamp at lower left, pencil signed at lower right by the artist, bearing "Ed. 65" at lower left, and titled below near the bottom edge of the sheet "SEA GULLS".
