Antique Japanese woodblock print by Hasui Kawase (1883-1957) entitled Snow at Ginkakuji Temple. Snow falls quietly on a two story building. The rocks and trees around the pond are capped with snow and figures stroll by with umbrellas.

The artist, Hasui Kawase is considered one of the major landscape artists of Japan. He was born the son of a silk merchant and studied both Japanese and Western style painting. He showed at the Tatsumi Exhibition of Painting at the age of 19...

Paul Jacoulet 1896-1960 French This is one of the finest color block prints by French artist Paul Jacoulet. The title: Retour De La Jungle, Tondano: Celebes, This image was created and printed in 1948, Pencil signed, with the Sparrow seal. This image measures 15 3/4X12 inches. The artist used a fine coral powder to give dimension to the compositional colors. He also experimented with Gofun, an egg white derivative that produced a rich opaque effect...

Thomas W. Nason 1889-1971 New England This is an original chiaroscuro wood engraving, done in two blocks, black and grey. The title is Eggemoggin Reach, created and printed in 1940 in an edition of 250 signed proofs. The image measures 6X10 inches, hand signed lower right in pencil. This wood engraving was published by Associated American Artists in New York. Very fine condition.

A rare opportunity to acquire a print by California master artist JESSIE ARMS BOTKE (1883-1971), known for her distinctive, highly decorative, finished works in oil and watercolor, often featuring exotic birds, with gold and silver leaf backgrounds. Her prints rarely encountered. This example is titled "Fish Shacks" at lower left margin, and is pencil signed at lower right margin.
