Eugene Higgins (American, Kansas City, Missouri 1874–1958 New York)A superb painterly impression, in dark brown ink, on buff wove paper os a lake scene with trees and a sail boat c 1910. Size 10.5" by 8.75" The print has an inscription at bottom with Higgins name , unsure if its his signature.

An example of the lithograph "Cecile's Chastity", from the series "Three Plays from the Marquis de Sade", issued in 1969, signed in pencil lower right, numbered 52/160 at lower left, by the world-famous surrealist artist SALVADOR DALI (1904-1989). The unframed sheet measures 25 1/2" by 19 1/2". The image area is clean and problem-free, though I note significant browning and staining in the margins, the outline of a previous mat clearly visible. Careful framing/mat would minimize most of this...

A vintage woodcut print in black with touches of yellow and red in the windows of the picturesque seaside structures, unsigned, titled in the image "NOEL", white speckles (sprayed?) indicating snowflakes, 12 1/2" by 9 1/2" framed. The scene resembles Maine villages such as Port Clyde or Castine. Likely a work from that region, circa 1940's, possibly 1930's. I opened up the backing and found no further information.

James Abbott McNeill Whistler 1834-1903 American This is an original etching by American artist James Whistler. The title is: "La Marchande de Moutarde" It was part of the series titled: "The French Set", published and printed in 1858. This etching is signed lower left corner of the image, printed on a thin Japan type laid paper. According to the Glascow catalog this is state V/V before the plates cancellation. The image measures 6 1/4X3 1/2 inches.

The sheet measures 7" by 6" inside the mat, 16" by 15" as framed. This is a circa 1946-48 posthumous edition on cream wove paper, with the A.V.D. Becke blind stamp from Berlin Halensee impressed at lower right (which I have tried my best to photograph). Kollwitz was born in Konigsberg in the old East Prussia...
