A small etching of one of the classic old buildings of America's oldest coastal cities, perhaps New Orleans or Charleston South Carolina, titled "Street Cart", numbered 91/150 and signed "Godzala" or similar. The etching measures 3 3/4" by 2 1/2" inside the mat and 10 1/4" by 8 1/4" in the silver metal frame. Condition is excellent. The piece likely dates to the 1990's through present. I do not see an obvious artist that would correspond with the name.

One of two works by the artist in my shop, this is an etching on paper, 8 3/4" by 6 5/8" sheet, signed in pencil at lower right margin "PHILIP KAPPEL". This is a fine etching of a pair of wind-sculpted pine trees on an exposed knoll, by a well regarded artist most associated with Connecticut, where he was born and where he died. This little lithograph (4 3/4" by 6", 10 1/2" by 11" framed) is titled at bottom "Res. of Levi Davis, Jr., Esq.,/Secs. 28 and 29, Big Rock Tpl, Kane Co., Ill." It is a typical view of a prosperous new homestead in the nineteenth century. Estate owners commonly commissioned local artists to create an image of the proud homes and farms springing up in 19th century America, and this is one of those images, now firmly part of Americana...

This is a color aquatint, 9 7/8 by 12 7/8" as framed, the subject a monumental Paris building in the autumn twilight, (the Pantheon, I believe?), numbered at lower left 248 of 500 and signed at lower right in pencil by the noted French 20th century impressionist painter CHARLES BLONDIN (1913-1991). Blondin was active in Paris in the post war years, painting and creating editions of prints which he numbered and hand signed. This example has not been examined outside the frame...

A nineteenth century gentleman deep in thought, searching for the answer to an obviously vexing problem, is the subject of this etching, created in the late 1870's by artist Leon Richeton (1854-1934) after the original painting by Scottish artist ERSKINE NICOL (1825-1904). The artist was born in Edinburgh and taught in Ireland in the years surrounding the Great Potato Famine of the late 1840's...

This unsigned 7-1/4 x 5-1/2" print is mounted on a lined mat and encased on a period 11 x 9" gilt wood frame with original glass; it is in excellent original condition with no rips, tears, foxing, staining, fading, losses, damage or repairs other than a small water stain to the mat on the lower right corner and some minor scrapes to the gilding on the frame...

Bower as part of the set of prints, “Views of Egypt, Palestine and Other Parts of the Ottoman Empire.” The paper with a watermark, “J Whatman/1801” on the right hand edge with the lower part of the date missing. A dramatic view of men in local dress in a tomb lit with torches...

From a set of lithographs, Paris Dans sa Splenour, published in 1861, titled, “LE NOUVEAU LOUVRE/Vue prise du Palais Tuileries.” The printer and lithographer are shown in details of the lower left and right corners. The image without printing is 9 7/8 by 14 ½ inches (25 x 27 cm), the page 13 ¼ by 19 ¼ inches (34 x 49 cm).

Condition; some rubbing to the surface and some of what look to be ink spots...

For the Hawaiiana fans, here is a clean Hale Pua anthuriums print, 13 3/4" by 10 3/4" (24 1/2" by 20 1/2" framed). Close up magnification shows it to be some kind of later photo of an original airbrush painting, I believe (offset printing-type dots visible with a magnifier). The color seems to be just printed on rather than airbrushed, the signature, likewise...

This is a framed reproduction, circa mid 20th century, of the PIERRE AUGUSTE RENOIR (1841-1919) famous painting "La Fillette a la Gerbe" (Little Girl with Sheaf). She is carrying her sheaf of wheat, although she looks to be more of a child of the privileged rather than a field worker in the tradition of Millet.
