Oil on canvas landscape oil, unmounted/unstretched, contained loosely in a decorative and complementary modern white metal frame, measuring 5" by 7" (7 1/2" by 10" as framed), signed at lower left "A. Schilling". I would date this to the late 19th century or early years of the 20th. Schilling (1859-1937) exhibited in Chicago at the Art Institute, St. Louis at the world's fair, at the Pennsylvania Academy, and elsewhere...

This painting of a Square Rigger measures 28X36 inches. Signed lower right T.V.C .Valenkamph. Also identified on a brass plaque. The over all frame measures 34X44 inches.Valenkamph was a Gloucester Artist known for his Marine paintings. He died in 1924. This painting is in fine condition.

An old (circa 1900, perhaps earlier) oil on canvas laid on a Masonite panel, 19 1/2" by 15 1/2" (24 1/2" by 20 1/2" framed), signed at center left with conjoined initials "AF" (or, possibly, AT). The work features an older man wearing gold-rimmed spectacles, his white moustache and beard adding considerable character to this individual, who looks like a professor or other man of wisdom, accomplishment, and achievement. To date, an effort to tie the work to a listed artist has been unsuccessful...

A fine portrait of a lovely young girl, oil on canvas, 14" by 10 1/2", unframed, signed at upper left by listed French artist MAURICE JACQUET (1877-). Jacquet seems to have painted mainly portraits of young women, but a few landscapes are known. This work has just been cleaned and relined, as when found it had a very dry blanched unstable surface, and some loss areas...

This is a beautifully painted work by an historical painter of late 19th century California, ALBERT JENKS (1830-1901). It is already quite impressive as it is, but, with a gold frame around it, I can envision this gracing the wall of a law office or museum...

A rare painting by the well-listed Norwegian woman artist SIGRID LOUISE BOLLING (1853-1917), the subject a scenic fjord with towering peaks in the background, some with snow, hulking above man's humble houses on a rise at left. A well-painted work featuring an interior, perhaps a residence, perhaps a restaurant or other public space, a table with fruit in a bowl, a chair, and sofa filling the space. The oil on canvas, 17 1/2" by 21" (20 1/2" by 24" in old frame, likely the original), is signed somewhat indecipherably at lower left and dated there "Berlin 1909". The name appears at first glance to be "B. Geis(xxxx)" or "B. Geism(xxxx)"...

Here's an unusual item, a painting on white milk glass, in oil, measuring 5 1/2" by 7 1/2" and 8" by 10" as framed. The somewhat folk art feeling work is not signed. I would judge the age as anywhere from about 1880 to about 1920----a nautical type could probably date this more accurately by noting in which decade such a ship would have existed. Condition is good with minor paint losses from scratches and aging. However the small losses are not really noticeable at normal viewing distance. ...
