"Barn and House" framed etching and aquatint print by Tanaka Ryohei. The Japanese artist is best known for his intricate prints of rural Japan. This print is most striking in it's simplified, dramatic composition. The roofs are pictured from the side against the black sky. Signed in pencil and numbered 60 of 120. Dated 1993.

From the set of lithographs, Paris dans sa Splenour, published in 1861, this one is titled, “TOUR St. JAQUES – LA BOUCHERIE ET RUE DE RIVOLIE.” The printer and lithographer are shown in details of the lower left and right corners. The image without printing is 9 1/4 by 14 1/8 inches (23.5 x 36 cm), the page 12 ¾ by 18 ½ inches (32.5 x 47 cm).

An interesting color printed engraving of George Washington published in London in 1798 by Robert Cribb, Holborn, engraved by William Nutter after a painting by Gilbert Stuart purported to belong to J.S. DeFranca of Devonshire Place. Devonshire Place is a part of London, but a quick search did not turn up a J.S. DeFranca and it is possible that this print is a copy of another print of Washington, based on the Lansdowne portrait by Gilbert Stuart...

This is a lithograph, apparently signed in the plate only, by the noted American artist RAPHAEL SOYER (1899-1987). Soyer, one of several brothers who became significant figures in American art during the WPA and mid century period, became known for his sensitive studies of human figures in urban settings and interiors. Paintings sell at major auctions, and prints, some hand signed and some not, are regularly encountered. This one is in clean condition and is ready for the wall.

This is a wall-ready unusually fresh and clean lithograph, hand colored, titled "Millard Fillmore/Whig Candidate for Vice President", by New York competitors to Nathaniel Currier, J. Baillie and Company. The coloring is green in the curtains and just a hint of blush on the cheeks. Size is 13" by 9" inside the double mat. This is a block print on an unusual paper, the subject a mounted Native American banging his drum while on a white horse, signed in the block by the important "dean of Arizona artists", LON MEGARGEE (1883-1960). Proportion 10 is an exciting Maki offering—white kanji on bright yellow. This use of yellow was fairly rare in Maki’s work. It is a square print—13.625 sq inches—in excellent condition. A ray of sunshine in any collection, on any wall.
