The subject is somewhat uncertain; perhaps a look at a catalogue raisonne of the artist's graphic works would provide the title, but skulls and other references to death seem to predominate, and the ink is black...

Pastel drawing of architecture and figures, 18" by 14 3/4", 23" by 19 1/2" as framed, signed at lower right "Frederick Millson". The architecture could be Spanish, as would be found in Southern California, or possibly more exotic, such as Islamic North Africa. This is an accomplished drawing in fine condition by an elusive artist about which there seems to be little to know. There is considerable energy in the scene and the stylized figures are by a trained hand. The painting likely dates to the 1960's or possibly 1950's. There are some light abrasions at lower left, a flaked area near the extreme lower edge there and another small edge loss at top, and light overall soiling.

Something of a mystery, this is a very interesting soft pencil drawing of a young woman, 13 1/4" by 9 1/4" (19" by 15" framed), signed indecipherably at lower right and dated there 1931. Try as I might, I have absolutely come to a dead end when it comes to figuring out this signature. Adjacent to that signature an inscription reads "Baroness Leonnie Perraja"...

This is a very finely executed watercolor on paper of a young woman in the clothing of the old country. I've opened this up and see that the work is on paper laid on a board, and it is not signed. The measurements inside the gold mat are 9 1/4" by 7 1/4" (17" by 13" in ornate old frame). A rarely seen print, featuring the familiar, landmark high bridge over the Arroyo Seco in Pasadena, California, by the well-known California plein air impressionist artist BENJAMIN CHAMBERS BROWN (1865-1942). The lithograph is in rich brown ink on watermarked paper (an "A" with eagle).
