Oil on canvas laid on canvasboard at a later date, (13" by 16 1/4" as framed), signed boldly at lower right in Greek "PIPIS XARALAMBIS" and dated there 1914. The artist does not appear to be well known but the painting is nicely executed, with an excellent luminosity. In my experience, vintage and antique Greek paintings are quite scarce. The tall cypress trees at left balance the distant temple ruins at right. More research might reveal more on the artist...

This is an original etching by Reginald Marsh (American 1898-1954)of Minsky's Chorus, the famous Burlesque venue in New York City. The original painting of this scene is in the permanent collection of the Whitney Museum. The original shows a reverse scene. The sheet size is 10 1/2" x 14 1/4", with the impressed image size of 8 7/8" x 11 3/4". The paper is heavy, textured, with a slight cream hue. As is visible in the photos, there are losses to the margins on the right and at the bottom...

An interesting contemporary painting of a middle-aged man sitting on a stool in a homey, cozy interior, a fireplace, paned window and painting set off by orange pastel colored walls. The unsigned work, by a trained hand, reminds of some of the interior paintings with figures by David Hockney. The oil on canvas, unframed, measures 30" by 24". It is in excellent condition. A silvery, or simple blond wood strip frame might be complementary.

Two finely executed pencil drawings, one titled "Mount Hood", the other of a mounted cowboy rounding up calves, the scene, I have been informed by a distant relative of the artist, being in Big Timber, Montana. A beautifully executed oil on canvas painting by George Harland, a noted British artist. The scene depicts a man returning in a rowboat at dusk.
