Pardon the hyperbole, but this is the most original bead laden, non sterling, largest nouveau deco ish necklace this person has ever designed and assembled. Massive! Sometimes one sees a piece of 'hardware', as in this circa 1890 brass Art Nouveau escutcheon with butterfly figural motif, and the creative person knows instantly what to create...

Contemporary American designer Maya has created this elegant choker of real pearls, resin and glass beads. 12 1/2" around with a 2 1/2" extension. Depth at its greatest is 5". The piece is signed Maya.

I have said in the past that Erika Hult de Corral is one of the few designers in the world of Mexican silver jewelry for whom I will cross the 1980 threshold without second thoughts. I believe that her talent and the quality of her work combined with the fact that she is one of the few known female contributors to the country’s 20th c. Silver Renaissance more than warrants the… “transgression”...

Offered here is a magnificent Matl necklace created by Ricardo Salas. It is the ultimate statement piece. Nineteen panels in total, each with three amethysts and sixteen turquoise cabochons. I believe this likely dates 1980's. It's signed and hallmarked, hand etched, with "Matl Mexico 925 M. Reg 142073 MS-12". When open, the inner length, not including the clasp, is just shy of 17". Width is 2 1/4". Weight is 217 grams. Collector quality.

A veritable show-stopper, this fine, .950 silver Mexican pendant combines brutalist elements with a classic Aztec Revival, beautifully carved obsidian "mask". Signed by Fernando Alvarez Mendez Mateo of Taxco, it was crafted in the post-1980 period yet is exhibits such craftsmanship, I wouldn't have been surprised if I had found an Eagle mark on it...

Though only known to us by his (I am assuming) initials maestro CEL is not a stranger among lovers of Matilde Poulat's exuberant jeweled designs. His creations are indeed avidly sought after as worthy alternatives to Matl's ever-ascending-in-price examples and my experience all these past years has made me look for and try to acquire his work whenever possible...

Gorgeous early signed and dated Chanel long sautoir chain necklace, with Gripoix plique a jour glass poured glass stations in pink and topaz, mounted in dark goldtone metal, with glass based faux baroque pearls, also Gripoix, with a watch style clasp and Chanel signature charm dated 1984 at the clasp. 66 inches long. Circa post-1980, this Matl necklace was produced by Ricardo Salas. Ricardo Salas worked with his aunt, Matilde Poulat. After her death in 1960 he continued producing her designs, as well as his own.

Twenty-one amethyst teardrop dangles swing freely from the center seven silver panels, each stone topped with a turquoise cabochon. This is a stunning piece which falls perfectly on the neck, and it's also very flattering.
