Pair Japanese carved and hand painted on heavy solid Ivory Mandarin Ducks(couple) with inlaid Mother of Pearl eyes, 3 3/8" high, 4 1/4" x 2" wide each, beautifully detailed carving and painted with water color on Ivory. These couple of Mandarin Ducks are made in Japan during 1950's and sold at Gump's in U.S., still retain the partially torn paper stickers "Made in Japan" on the bottom of the male duck. These pair of ducks should stay together forever...

The teapot 7.5 inches (19 cm) with handle up and 5 inches (12.8 cm) tall with handle down by 5.7 inches (14.6 cm) wide. The small teapot 3.7 inches (9.5 cm) tall by 5 inches (12.7 cm) wide. The sharing cup is 1.6 inches (4.2 cm) tall by 4.2 inches (10.7 cm) wide. They are 1.6 Lb (25.8 oz).

Japanese Blue and White Stoneware Sake Bottle, or Tokkuri, 10" high, 5 1/2" wide-widest middle section, with Blue Kanji letters on white rough glazed surface. White glaze chipped off, will make nice decorative kitchen items.

A rare commemorative white porcelain cup produced by the Fukagawa Arita Company (purveyors to the Imperial Family) inscribed in gold with “A toast to Prince Akihito & Princess Michiko 1959.” The rim is gilt and below it is the gold Japanese Imperial Chrysanthemum Seal. The chrysanthemum flower is also the symbol of Japan and of longevity and rejuvenation...

Written on the inside of the original box is the artists' testimonial to this piece. Carved by famed carver Terada Keitaro (artist name : Kei'in) when he was 71 and his retirement piece. Carved in Showa 29 (1954) he went into Ryozen-zan mountain in Shiga Prefecture and found the perfect wild mulberry wood for his final masterpiece. A narrow open-mouthed vessel decorated with autumnal trees by Ito Tozan II enclosed in the original signed wooden box. The piece could serve as a vase, but comes with a black lacquered wooden lid and is titled Mizusashi, making it rightfully a fresh water jar for the Japanese Tea Ceremony. It is 11.7 cm (4-3/4 inches) diameter 22 cm (9 inches) tall and in excellent condition, likely dating from the 1950s...

Clog-shaped chawan, tea bowl to be used in the tea ceremony. Over a whitish fine clay a silky black glaze and crackled white slip over which a decoration of interlocked diamonds and rings in iron brown.

Seal impressed in bottom/underside: Juzan. Refers to the Oribe potter Mizuno Juzan.
