Japanese limited edition cement mortar block print pencil-titled in kanji "Poem 68-2" (indicating production in 1968) by Maki Haku (1924-2000). Pencil-signed and numbered 26/50 in the lower margin. The artist's square red seal is at the lower right corner of the image. This print features the highly embossed ideographs characteristic of Maki's work. The designs were created by inscribing on wet cement. Paper size: 17" x 17 1/4" (image size: just under 16" x 16"). Very good overall condition.
A Chinese landscape painting done on a gold paper base done in the style of Zhang Da Qian. The work contains a signature and seal of Zhang Da Qian's noted disciple Sun Yunsheng (1918-2000). Zhang Da Qian established a style influenced from traditional Chinese landscape paintings combined with Song Dynasty style ink wash landscapes. Work is dated in June of 1975. The green jadeite table screen depicts a traditionally dressed man standing amid bamboo and plum-trees, with two cranes dancing along. Its jadeite quality, color, and carving skills are amazingly superb. Qing Dynasty Styled. Height: 4½" (11.43 cm) Width: 9½" (24.13 cm) Height with Stand: 10¼" (26.04 cm) Highly collectible and in an excellent condition.
This Tibetan wool sash measures 12.7 cm x 340.4 cm in length including the silky fringes. The tigma (cross) motif is an ancient good luck charm among Tibetans and here it is depicted in a discontinuous weft pattern design. These sashes are traditionally worn to secure the traditional Tibetan attire called a chuba. The high lustre of the wool is attributed to the high lanolin content of the goat wool in the high altitude regions of the Tibetan plateau...
A cast iron beast, probably a tiger. The elongated shape of the animal, the size, the sagging of the back, suggest that it is a brush rest. There are a lot of modern cast iron copies, which may be the case here, but we can certify that this little tiger has been in the Sakura collection for at least forty years, which proves nothing.

Lovely pair of small Chinese ginger jars measuring only 5.5 inches high including finial and 3.5" in diameter. They feature a beautiful crackle glaze with a polychrome scene depicting warriors in the Battle of the 3 Kingdoms. These jars were last used as a antique decorative item on top of a diminutive slant top writing desk in a NYC Park Avenue Apartment before the family retired to NC.
