Fantastic tea bowl by Kingyoku Nakata, the best specialist of Chibu art, made 40 years ago.

This bowl is designed with a granular white painting called 'Shiro (white)-Chibu, which is very rare in Kutani. (Ao (blue)-Chibu was made more often. Please take a look on an Ao-Chibu Tea Bowl - our item # 0188)

Beside the Shiro-Chibu there is a golden arabesque design, which is called Kin-Karakusa.

1930's Japanese Sterling Silver Ice Bucket Relief Iris Flower Marked Arthur Bond, Yokohama

It is 8.5 inches (21.5 cm) tall handle up by 5.7 inches (14.5 cm) wide. It is 471 gram.

It is tarnished and has a dent at the bottom and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

Wall vase of irregular cylindrical shape. Middle brown stoneware with irregular natural ash glaze dripping decoration. Metal eye at the back for hanging. Marked with 3 dots at bottom, which is the mark of the Karatsu potter Nakazato Toraemon XII Muan. Japan, around 1960s/1970s.

H ca 7 in., W at foot 4 ¼ in.

Mint condition. The piece does not come with a box.

Nakazato Muan (1895-1985) inherited the artist name Taroemon XII, in 1927, following his father who was Taroemon XI...

This mid 20th century carved wood netsuke is 1 7/8” high, 1 ½” wide and 7/8” thick. It depicts two playful mice resting on a small flat basket. The mouse on the top is chewing the tail of the other one and the one on the bottom is fighting back by biting the other one’s back leg. It is signed but is not legible. The carving is very nice and it is in great condition.
