A beautiful old Japanese silver cup with the original wooden box in excellent condition. Weight:42g D:7.5cm

Wonderful Japanese figure of the Buddhist deity Bishamonten (Hindu name: Vaisravana), made out of iron. Bishamonten is cheif of the Four Heavenly Kings and is the guardian of the northern direction (in Japan he is one of the Seven Lucky Gods), he holds a small pagoda in one hand symbolizing the divine treasure house, whose contents he both guards and gives away. Signed by the artist: Seiun. circa mid 1930's. Size: 25" high x 12" wide x 9" deep.

A small Yixing zisha ('purple clay') teapot with enameled decoration depicting prunus blossom on one side and a dragonfly amongst lotus flowers on the other. The base carries the name Meng Chen. A large shiwan (shekwan) sculpture of an Aesthetic riding a pomegranate red foo lion. The glaze is thick and glass-like with a natural crackle that only comes from age. The clay’s color and some ash residue (a good thing) indicate that this piece was fired in a dragon kiln about 5 - 15 miles upstream from Foshan. The Immortal’s robes are glazed with a rich translucent celadon color. There are two peaches at his side and he is holding a single peach in his upright hand...

A wonderful translucent blue celadon vase done in the classic style of Song Dynasty Chinese pottery. This piece was made by one of the few great female Japanese potters of the previous century, Suwa Sozan II, daughter of Meiji Imperial Court Artist Sozan I.

Suwa Sozan I (1852-1922) was born in an area of what is known today as Ishikawa prefecture. After a short stint in the military he took up pottery design and painting under Touda Tokuji in 1873...

Antique Japanese Yamato or Ichimatsu-ningyo dolls. Typically depicting a girl about six years of age dressed in traditional kimono. Ichimatsu - ningyo have been treasured for years as playthings and objects of beauty. This wonderful and excellent example of Ichimatsu-ningyo is very charming with great attention to detail. Toast the new years with this solid silver sake set made for celebrations. 3 solid silver cups, as well as a beautifully shaped silver sake kettle with lid, each piece bearing the jun-gin (Pure or 100 percent silver) mark. They come enclosed in a wooden box titled Jungin-sei Shuki (Solid Silver Sake Set). The kettle is 13 cm diameter, 18 cm wide at the spout. The largest cup is 12 cm (4-3/4 inches) diameter. In total the set weighs 757 grams, or 1.65 pounds of pure silver!

Japanese bronze fu-dog and ball. The playful fu-dog stands with mouth open in a dynamic pose with back feet on the ground and front paws on the ball. The ball is made of open work bronze with a design of peonies and scrolling vines.

Japanese Ambassador Ningyô. These were used as international gifts of cultural exchange. This doll has a poignant face with a compelling expression. She is a very young little girl wearing a rich dark blue kimono with pale flowers and a red obi. It is really just a wonderful doll that will surely enhance any serious doll collection. 29.25 inches, (74.5cm) tall. circa 1930's. From a widely renowned and published collection that has been exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum and Japan Society.

A garland of enameled silver wired white chrysanthemums encircles this silver rimmed 9.5" brilliant red vase signed Ando Jubei and bearing the jungin mark.

Condition: Excellent,no chips, scratches or repairs. There is normal scuffing to the bottom lower rim.

This is a beautiful cloisonne vase. It is not signed but it appears to be a vintage Hayashi Kodenji piece. The colors are brilliant and the enamel has a high gloss. Besides the top and bottom scroll work there are 7 butterflies that adorn this vase. This stout vase stands 7 1/4 inches tall and is 6 inches wide. The rims are silver and condition is excellent.
