A finely done Japanese bamboo basket used as a flower container made by the second Shochikusai. The handle is done in a way as if the vine appears to grow out from the basket and fine strips of bamboo are woven throughout the vase. A magnificent and detailed noh mask known as Shojo, which is used specifically for the play that contains the same name as the mask. Shojo originated in China as a mythical beast and was imported to Japan as a sake loving creature. This Turkman Yomut's child's cap from Herat measures 17.8 cm in diameter and 49.5 cm in circumference, 5.5 cm in height. It is estimated to date to the mid 20th century and is in excellent condition. The embroidery technique is cotton thread in a tightly worked satin stitch on a light beige cotton ground.

This carved ivory statue of a girl holding a flower basket was carved around 1970. It is 7 inches tall (with the base, it is 8 ¼ inches high), 2 inches wide and 1 ½ inches thick. Her left hand is holding a woven flower basket and her right hand is gently grabbing the tassels from the basket. It is in excellent condition.

A four panel shoji screen decorated with carvings of cranes, pine, and bamboo framed in a black lacquered frame. Wood fired Mino-ware with a deep and expressive iron glaze, this tea bowl is a delight to hold in the hand.

A native of Aichi Prefecture, the potter Kajiura Soshyu was born in 1916 and studied under Hayashi Sekko and Kimura Giichi. A multitalented artist, he is also rumored to have worked in painting and calligraphy.
