Perhaps a modern reference to Jo and Uba, the old couple on the island Takasago who symbolize longevity.

Antique Japanese oil painting on wooden board, with no title (but provably 'Notre Dame de Paris'), 1930s, 40.3 x 33.3 cm (15.86 x 13.11in), attached with a Japanese-written certificate proving that the actual grand son himself possessed this work of Tsukamoto Shigeru (1903-1983).
