Chinese Gilt Bronze Jadeite Carved Belt Buckle, Circa 1930's
The overall measurement is 3.6 inches (9.2 cm) long by 1.2 inches (3 cm) wide. The jadeite is 1.6 inches (4.1cm) long by 0.78 inch (2 cm) wide. It is 92.9 gram.

This chawan was fired in the kilns of one of Kyoto’s best known raku-yaki potters, Sasaki Shoraku III (1944-). The Shoraku line began when the grandfather of the current potter established a kiln near the famous Kiyomizu temple, nestled at the foot of the eastern mountains in Kyoto. In 1945, the kiln was moved to Kameoka near the Yada shrine where it remains today.

Neolithic Hongshan Nephrite Jade Dragon Insect toggle pendant .The figure of a dragon insect hybrid the jade is well worn with deposits. Chinese famille rose porcelain double gourd vase with various flowers and butterflies painted on a white ground. The base border is painted with alternating bats, flowers and fruits all in iron red. The top rim is covered in gilt, complete with an iron red surrounding border. In the middle is a ribbon. The inside is glazed white, as well as the base with the base rim left unglazed...
There is the usual overall crazing on this wonderful art deco vase. It measures 61/2" wide, 6" tall, and 3" deep.

Antique English Tea Chest in the Form of a Sideboard, in mahogany and deal, having a rectangular hinged top with shaped and carved backsplash which opens to a sugarbowl, the front with two cabinet doors opening to lidded tea caddies.
William Smee & Sons, London, published a catalog of furniture designs in 1850 which had sideboards of similar form. (See Pictorial Dictionary of British 19th Century Furniture Designs by Edward Joy, pp 435-36.)

Offered is this large-sized (height: 8 inches & width: 3"), iridescent glass shade with applied threads, made by Durand/Vineland Glass Company, around 1925. Unsigned, as expected - it is in a definite Durand shape (please refer to page 146 of Meschi's book - shown in last picture here for your convenience). Small food dish for vegetables, relish etc. of round shape with small indentations in the rim. Thin, light colored stoneware, covered in cream-colored glaze with very fine crackle and pinkish brown swirls. In the bottom a highly stylized kotobuki character (longevity) in iron brown and three green glaze splashes on the rim. Glazes have left a few spots uncovered. Oribe ware, Japan, early Taisho era, 1920s.

A superbly well balanced Kuro Raku Chawan made by one of the few masters of this genre, Ogawa Choraku (1912-1991), second heir to the Choraku lineage of Raku potters.
The founder of the Choraku lineage studied under Keinyu (11th Raku) and Konyu (12th Raku) of the Raku Kichizaemon family, and in 1904 with the support of Konyu, founded his own kiln in Kyoto. He received the name Choraku in 1906 by Choyuken, the head of a very influential tea ceremony association.

This porcelain and silver tea cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Freidrich Deusch silver company circa 1950. The set retains its original paper labels which cover the porcelain blank mark. The saucer is 6 inches in diameter and the cup is 2 inches high. A delightful design of hand painted birds and flowers is outlined in silver. It is a rare and desirable set to find.

This Palissy Ware center or serving piece has 3 clam styled bowls for serving condiments or food. They have a Jun Yao style of coloring of mottled blue and green with dabs of purple in the interior; outer walls are painted with ochre streaks.
