Charming coffee cans, decorated with various birds in bright and lively colours, the style typical of the last years of the Amstel factory, 1809-1814. There are three cans. The saucers are from the period, but not belonging - the original saucers probably had corresponding birds in the center. Height "2 ¼ / 6.2 cm, diameter of saucers "5 ¼ / 13 cm. Condition: some wear to the gilt of the upper rim to two of the cups.

Pretty porcelain button from Royal Copenhagen, hand painted with a rose flower and bud, the back with the factory’s under-glaze blue mark from 1870 – 1890 and 10, probably for the design / pattern. Diameter "1 ½ / 1.7 cm. Condition: fine

Impressive Aztec or Inca design ceramic brooch from around 1950, turquoise and gilt glazed. Distance between the wing tips "2 ¼ / 5.5 cm. Security clasp. Condition: fine

A pair of ceramic clip earrings by Brondsted /Bröndsted, Denmark, c 1960, a yellow nebulous shape surrounded by black and light grey. Impressed marks Bröndsted Danmark. Height "1/ 2.5 cm. Condition: a minuscule glaze flake to one corner.

A boldly geometrical flapper necklace from the 1920’s, made up of large circular shiny black celluloid elements, a design likely to rattle in rhythm with any Charleston band. Length "44/ 110 cm, diameter of circles"1 2/3/ 4.2 cm. Condition: fine.There is a lock (cf. photo 2), so the sautoir can be worn double.

A striking white celluloid flapper necklace from the 1920’s, the profile of the pendant in the orientalist or “Persian” style of this period. Length "32 / 80, plus pendant "3 / 7.5 cm. Condition: fine.

An 18th century cashier’s fob seal / stamp, made of steel with an engraved beehive surrounded by keys. This pictograph tells you to keep your fingers away: in the emblem books of the time the beehive used to be accompanied by a Latin sentence meaning “not for you”. Rose quartz carnelian seal fob / stamp: an intaglio of three fleurs de lys under a royal crown, the French pre-revolutionary official seal, c 1790 or earlier. Width "4/5/ 2 cm. Condition: fine.

An English early Victorian tole tray, black with gilt Neo Rococo border. Four reserves of exotic country buildings and elegant ladies in dresses and hairstyles from the years around 1840. Measures: " 16 /40,5 and " 13 ¼ / 34 cm. Condition: wear consistent with age (cf. pics).

Art Déco vase by Camille Tharaud, 1925-30. Camille Tharaud (1878-1956) came from a family of porcelain makers in Limoges. He collaborated with designers like Marcel Goupy and Henri Rapin. At the International exhibition of modern decorative and industrial arts in Paris 1925, Tharaud was prized for his technique of high-fire enamelling directly onto the raw porcelain. Young Flute Player is the title of an oil painting by Benedetto Luti from the 1720’s, now in the Hermitage. An earlier version by Luti depicted a young boy in a blue jacket without any instrument. This engraving, made by Victor Marie Picot was published in London in 1780 as Boy and Lute, obviously mixing up the motif and the artist (!). Interesting Arita Imari bowl, late Edo with scalloped rim and panels with reserves of flowers and figural scenes of an elderly teacher (?) surrounded by pupils, the reserves contoured in raised overglaze black. Brocade or diaper patterns in green, red, blue and gilt surrounding a stylized turtle in underglaze blue. A carved and dark red lacquered oval tea tray with cherry blossom in cinnabar red and yellow-white. Made in Kamakura, the back with a stamped seal mark. Width "17/ 43 cm. Condition: minimal wear.

Japanese Tsugaru / Wakasa lacquer box and six coasters, early 20th century lacquer work with a speckled and metallic surface, an old Honshu speciality. The pattern is rhombic, the lid of the box gold or bronze coloured, the coasters a reddish brown. The back of the coasters is black and slightly structured. Diameter of coasters "3 ¼ / 9.5 cm and of box "5 / 12.5 cm. Condition: small loss of lacquer to the rim of the lid, otherwise fine.

Japanese Yunomi pair of beakers, one a little smaller than the other, husband and wife cups. Decoration of enameled / iroe carnation flowers in Kakiemon style and colours on a matted ground. Arita Nabeshima, Tsuji production signed Mayama Akira. Between the leaves to the left of each beaker there is further writing in Japanese. Height "3 ¼ / 8 and "3 ½ / 8.5 cm respectively. Condition: fine.

Small and elegant vase from around 1900, silver thread cloisonne enamel depicting flowers and birds in the style of Hayashi Kodenji. Auspicious Kanji mark to base: great happiness (?). Height "6/ 15.3 cm. Condition: enamel loss on the shoulder covered with black paint (cf. pics) and an associated scratch mark.

Small brass and mother of pearl scent bottle for a chatelaine. Late 19th century and probably made in France. Length in total "3 1/3 / 8.5 cm, Condition: fine.

Red copper and silver bowl, Tibetan and probably used for buttered tea. Silver lining and foot rim, the latter with a border of stylized leaves, embossed and chased, probably early 20th century. Tibetan silver normally lacks hallmarks and this bowl tested for a silver content of 500/1000. Diameter "3 3/4 / 9.7 cm, height "2/ 5 cm. Condition: fine.
