Kurama Temple in Northern Kyoto has a very similar one at the entrance to the temple with water running from the dragon's mouth into a large granite water basin where people can purify mouth and hands before entering the temple. Regal 'Seiji' celedon flower vase in signed original paulownia wood box. The vase itself is a masterpiece of 1950's seiji pottery by one of the best, Einosuke. Very elegant feel and subtle lime green shades. Stands 13" tall and a diameter of 10".

The hannya mask is a mask used in Japanese Noh theater, representing a jealous female demon. It is characterized by two sharp bull-like horns, metallic eyes, and a leering mouth.
