This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in France by a Paris decorator in the 1870s or earlier. It has a hand painted monogram “AJ” hand painted in gold. The saucer is 5 1/2 inches in diameter. The cup is 2 inches tall with a diameter of 3 1/4 inches. The porcelain it thin and translucent. The cup has a hand painted scene that surrounds the entire surface. An 18th century couple, of noble birth, are holding hands and reading a letter. The painting is soft and dream-like...

This porcelain plate was produced in Germany by Nymphenburg in the 1890s. It measures 10 inches in diameter. The artist’s initials are on the back. The plate has twelve sides and has molded beading in the porcelain around the edge. It has a hand painted scene in the center. There is a hen and a rooster among a field of wild flowers. It is styled in the art nouveau fashion. Condition: Excellent

The group of small porcelain items known as "toys" is composed of scent bottles, bonbonnieres, etuis, and seals. These were produced from the early years of Chelsea through to the Chelsea-Derby period. (The most comprehensive work on these items is The Chelsea Porcelain Toys, by G.E. Bryant, published in 1925.)

Seals were carried by members of the upper class and used to imprint a uniquely identifiable mark in the wax used to sign or secure documents or letters...

A waste bowl or slop bowl and a saucer bowl in the Yellow Shell pattern, c 1820. This very popular folk art or naïve style pattern was produced in many Staffordshire kilns in the early 19th century. It used to be attributed to New Hall, but as for the waste bowl recent English research leads us to the Machin kiln, because of the difference in detail. A large faience shoe, lady’s high heel model, the white ground decorated with floral ropes, roses in bunches, and the toe resembling embroidery. The painting is the palate and tone typical of late 19th century Le Nove at their best. It is 4 5/8 inches (12 cm) tall, 8 5/8 inches (22 cm) long and 2 7/8 inches (7.5 cm) wide...

A pair of English Staffordshire ”Imari” plates, the decoration painted in under-glaze blue and enameled, the rims lustre-glazed. The backs with a printed mark Ironstone China. Early Victorian, c 1830-40. Mason’s was the first manufacturer to launch Ironstone ware but many others were to follow. Diameter "9¾ / 24,5 cm. Condition: some crackling to the glaze to one plate, and a small chip to the underside of the rim (cf. pics).

A Davenport 2614 Old Imari 2451 style pattern cup and saucer from 1870-1887. This wonderful fully hand painted English bone china 2-5/8" tall cup and matching 5-5/8" saucer has lush gold, cobalt and orange decoration. The pattern was later copied by Royal Crown Derby as "Old Imari" or "Traditional Imari" (in production from 1902-2014)...

An oversized plate (10 ½ inches (26.7 cm) diameter) with a hand painted bouquet of petunias in the center, surrounded by a thick gilt band and the elaborately molded lip with the molding picked out in gold. The printed blue KPM mark on the bottom was used during the years 1847 to 1849. There is also an incised Roman numeral four and possibly the number 14. It was probably used as a serving plate for pastry or cake.

Condition: no chips cracks hairlines or repairs...

High quality porcelain tea saucer in a most unusual design incorporating polychrome fantasy flowers with pink luster, probably made for the American market. The body is a typical Regency style with tall, sharply angled sides. Origin: England, c. 1800-1820. Condition: mint. Size: 5-5/8" diam.; 1-1/4" high.

A molded edge porcelain dessert serving dish, Spode circa 1814 with bat transferred fruit in the center. Pattern number 1686 hand painted on the bottom. Unmarked, but the distinctive border of twined dolphins alternating with a large plant (?) is a Spode design. The pattern of fruits is currently made by Spode and called “Chatham.” The border is set off with a band of gilding at the rim and the inside edge. The bat transfer is an unusual color, almost brown at some angles and gold at others...

American art pottery bowl by Marblehead Pottery, in a lavender glaze. Early 20th century. Size: 4.75 inches diameter x 2.25 inches ht. Mint condition.

Meissen porcelain cup and its holder, a Turkish “Fincan” and “Zarf”. Unmarked, Marcolini period (1774-1814), for the Ottoman market. Decoration of roses (gül) in Famille rose enamels and gilt. Height when put together "2 / 5.2 cm. Condition: fine.
