An interesting 18th century pewter plate, the border with an engraved motto, Suum cuique, written on a ribbon above an open book resting on a diagonally striped bar. As presented on this plate this is the crest and motto for the Scottish Clan Don. It is a Latin phrase meaning “to everybody his/her own”, historically used in freemasonry and in legal contexts, like serving as motto for the faculty of law at universities...

A fine pair of Arts & Crafts Pewter Candleholders by the noted Chicago Metalsmith, Julius O. Randahl. Signed as shown. Each measuring about 13" long and 6" at their tallest. These are pictured in the book "Chicago Metalsmiths" by Sharon Darling, as shown. Very good condition.

An extremely rare matching pair of large pewter wine jugs, Germany, Marburg, dated 1740.

Fantastic execution and made for a very wealthy client in c. 1740, which is engraved on the lid beneath the name of the commisioneer - JOHANNES HAAS. The jugs are stamped with a Marburg 'Feinzinnmarke' - a pewter touch mark from the city in Germany. The master given is Johann H Werlin, a meister working out of Marburg.

An impressive early Pewter Stein, Germany, dated 1798 on the lid, but probably made much earlier in the 18th. century.

Profusely decorated over the entire surface with frases / sayings and images of Crowned Guild symbolics, a heart and a crowned cross etc. The lid also engraved with a owners name - MARGRETA JURGSEN 1794.

With German Pewter touchmarks, perhaps dating it 1733 (?).

Such high quality tankard from this period is very rare!

A large and impressive baroque pewter Chalice with lid, made in Germany dated 1724 / ANNO 1733!

With a large inscription in fine writing and here dated ANNO 1733 by the owner, but on the stamps inside the lid, the maker has dated it 1724. Maker is 'Morten Muhlhiesen Smidt' - the original note with a detailed description of the maker etc. in German comes with the sale...

A lovely renaissance style pewter flagon or jug, made by Ulrich Appel in Nuremberg, Germany c. mid-late 17th. century.

Ulrich Appel became a master of pewter in 1659 and this vessel would have been made shortly thereafter.

The surface of this entire jug is profusely decorated with particularly artfull and tecnically difficult style of late renaissance - early baroque micro-engraving...

18th century German pewter plate decorated with quince and pumpkins with leaves made by Johann Christoph Normann. He was born in Kassel, apprenticed to Iohann Gottfried Hilpert, and started working as a master metalsmith in Nuremberg in 1786. Pewter plate, of variety apparently used for special occasions like Purim or Passover etc., 9 3/8" diameter, and filled with incised design consisting of Hebrew characters and an eight pointed star that reminds of the "hex" symbols of American folk art . On the reverse are three "angel/justice" symbols as often seen in these plates, and some writing above that in Roman letters, difficult to decipher.
