A fine and rare CHINESE QING DYNASTY RARE MASSIVE FAMILLE ROSE VASE, circa 1800

A wall plaque with dancing putti and flower garlands, possibly depicting Spring in a suite of the four seasons. Plaster, patinated and polished to look like terracotta, possibly English around 1800, likely a Grand Tour souvenir. Unmarked, the back with two copper rings for hanging. Width "11/ 28 and height "5 ½ / 14 cm. Condition: a few glaze flakes to the left side (cf. pics).

An English Bureau Roll Top Secretary, done in the French taste, Regency period 1800-1820, a very rare piece in Rosewood and Mahogany, complete with its original roll-top. An American New England Federal Cherry Candle Stand with a Shaped Top and Spider Legs. Dimensions; top 21.5" x 16.25" x 27" high. Circa 1800-1820. There is an old repair on the top (photo 5) but otherwise in excellent condition for a period piece.

English mahogany tea chest of simple rectangular form. The beauty of this chest lies in its interior with its two silver plate tea canisters and matching silver plate sugar canister. Circa 1825.

American Sheraton Mahogany upholstered Side Chair with carved Pineapple motif in the middle of the back and Burlwood back inlaid with Brass, slightly curved back frame, Ca. 1810 - 1820, 33" high, 19 1/2" wide for seat front, 18 1/2" high for seat front, carved round tapered legs in front, straight square legs in the back, in clean and good condition.

Set of 4 Bronze Secular Candlesticks of the early 19th century. They have a gothic revival design and measure 20”. They are in wonderful condition.

A rare crusie lamp with hanger, dating from the 1st quarter of the 19th century or earlier. The bowls of these lamps were filled with fish oil or mutton fat with wicks of peeled rushes. Crusie lamps were the precursors to Betty lamps and were generally made of iron or tin. To find one made of brass, and with its original hanger, is extremely uncommon.

The condition of the lamp and hanger is quite good, with normal evidence of wear...

Jerome's & Darrow Federal manner hand made shelf clock with wood works, Bristol CT. Provenance, Martin VanBuren Back, 1835-1920 (may already have been in the family for a generation.) We purchased from his direct descendant, David N. Back in the 1990s. We had the clock last serviced in 2006 and in good running order with reliable chimes. Having invested in preservation, our gain will have been our enjoyment of the clock. 2nd quarter, 19th century. Good condition. Height, about 34 3/4 inches...

Tea Chest in the Form of a Sideboard, in mahogany and deal, having a rectangular hinged top with shaped and carved backsplash, opening to a felt lined interior with two compartments for teaspoons and a moulded crystal sugarbowl...

Fine old, circa early 19th century hand painted ladies' fan, (just the painted paper portion, no hardware), nicely framed in a fan-shaped late twentieth century shadow-box of Italian manufacture. The gouache painting when viewed up close reveals fascinating details, such as the figure in the prow of the small boat at left looking through a telescope, the figure in the stern wearing a Napoleon-style hat...

Chinese Export Black Lacquer Tea Chest, rectangular with cut corners and lobbed body with gilt decoration of figures in courtyards; the stepped, hinged lid opening to two pewter lidded and engraved caddies and the whole raised on gilt dragon-form feet. Pair Hepplewhite Mahogany carved Eagle inside Shield back Side Chairs, Ca. 1800, 39" high back, 19" wide, 19" deep seat, carved spread Eagle's wing within Shield back, straight legs with dovetailed stretchers and upholstered seats. The condition is good.

A fine and rare Pennsylvania Dutch Amish folk art candle box carved from a single piece of yellow pine (no joining at all). The interior hollowed and the interior sides hand planed. One side with bas relief carved hex motifs. The other side with the initials, IF and IB (if read left to right, though not sure of the intended order), likely of a married couple and with other carved and incised adornment including hearts. Fitted, sliding top (the only exception to it being wholly one piece)...

This is a very nice all original very small paint decorated box. It is all original and including the lock and key but the lock I think been disabled. The boards are thick for such a small box and the nails are also oversized for the box. It is the kind of thing that makes you smile...

Federal Mahogany swell front chest of drawers. Yellow pine and poplar secondary woods. Maryland, probably Baltimore, 1790 to 1810. This chest is similar in ways to an example in "Furniture in Maryland, 1740-1940", Weidman, 1984, item #77, page 123. On both, the top conforms to the bow front case, projecting a bit beyond the case. And both have nicely formed French feet, inlaid banding on the drawers and above the skirt, and inlaid chevrons centering the escutcheons...

French hinged vinaigrette or snuff box made from carved coquille nut having a mask with inset red amber eyes and tongue, the cover with Napoleon astride a rearing horse. Measures 3 inches long. Circa 1815.

Antique Pear Form Tea Caddy in fruitwood, turned in the form of a pear with iron escutcheon and stem.  Often made in suite with an apple form tea caddy for your green and black teas. You want to see a curved lockplate as many fruit form string holders are being passed off as tea caddies.  Probably German, Late 18th Century. 6.5” tall with stem

Three(3) pieces Japanese heavy weight Black Wrought Iron U Shape side Locks and Handles, side handles for 2 pieces Tansu(chest on chest), Tansu side handles for top piece, and use as a lock to the top piece from lower piece together as one(1) Tansu, 6" high, 3 5/8" wide=maximum outer measurement), 5 3/8" high, 2 5/8" wide=inner measurement).

Medallion representing Napoleon Bonaparte wearing the laurel wreath. The emperor is represented still young. This must be one of the earliest depictions of the emperor, arround 1800-1805. On the edge is inscribed in french "Napoleon the great Emperor and King", the medallion is mounted on a horn box. The medallion is in bronze or gilded copper with a beautiful slightly greenish mercury gilding, it is framed by a strapping of pink metal which must be pink gold. Good condition, no restoration...
