This incredibly rare Olmec spoon is made from Robin's egg translucent blue jade. It has a perfect classic Olmec mouth which is very hard to find. These spoons were used for ceremonial snuffing of hallucinogenic substances by shamans. It is 4 1/4". It has beautiful patina and weathering is obvious. I purchased it from the famous collection of Michael Robbins from Santa Fe in 1992. The last picture is a spoon sold by Sotheby's several years ago. The hammer price was $330,000.

Mexican Pre Columbian Tlatilco Terracotta Head. Rare fragment from an early culture c 1200bc-600bc. Tlatilco is noted in particular for its high quality pottery pieces, many featuring Olmec iconography. Tlatilco figures were known for their elaborate hair styles. This head from a larger early figure has the classic eyes and mouth and a more simple but detailed hair style. Size 2.5" by 2.5"

I have seen and collected many bird celts and axe-gods over the years. This one ranks near the top for the type. The quality of the carving is extraordinary and the jade material is wonderfully colorful. It is 3 5/8" long. It is from the Las Mercedes, Linea Vieja area. The blade is narrowed as well as deeply cut back at the waistline. The eyes are marked by drill pits set in a broad groove. A pair of knobs on the head resemble the local great horned owl...

A very attractice pottery bowl with the typical corset / convex shape, Ica / Chincha bowl, pre-columbian, 1000-1476 AD.

Probably made locally under Inca overlordship. The ornamentation of this Ica-Chincha vessel is geometric, and it brings to mind a woven textile pattern and surface.

Condition: Good Very fine, intact with a few minor glaze chips to the rim.

Pre Columbian terracotta figure of a female dwarf. This figure was done in black clay and has really nice detail to the body and features legs stomach breasts and buttocks even the arch on the feet . The condition is undamaged with mineral deposits on the legs and arm . A unique Jalisco figure size h 6" w 2 3/4 "

A very rarely offered complete polychrome pottery figural vessel, Aztec / triple alliance Empire, c. 1200-1500 AD.

Interesting vessel that is both anthropomorphic and zoomorphic. A bulbous vessel with the figure having small limbs and with a small head with facial tattoos, probably a chieftain or Shaman. He is sort of holding on to the jar backwards with his diminutive hands. On the side of the vessel a protruding Feline or Dog head.

This 18K gold bell is a real beauty with original clapper intact which gives an extremely pleasing tinkle. It is 7/8". This is especially beautiful gold. It weighs 13.4 grams. The sound of bells were used by shamans in their magical rituals to open portals or manifest will. It has a large decorated loop on top allowing it to be worn with a large chain. An outstanding piece of pre-Columbian jewelry.

This stunning miniature Colima warrior is 1 1/2" tall. It is from the estate of the late Lynn Langdon. The figure was acquired in Mexico in the mid-20th century and is attributed to the Colima horizon, c.300BC-300AD.collection. The right arm has been cleanly broken and glued together. A fabulous little beauty.

A Teotihuacan stone figure made of a spinach colored green stone. A typical rigid body with squared-off shoulders, straight arms draped to the hips with incisions to denote fingers and toes, a flattened head marked by deep crescent in-cut eyes and mouth. It is drilled at the nose and through the earrings and wears a rectangular peaked cap. Measures 8" in height and on a presentation stand. Provenance: Leonard Kaplan Collection, Laguna Beach, CA.

Very unique translucent Spondylus shell human carving which is red/cream-colored found in the coastal area of Peru. 1 3/8" by 3/4". Collected in the 1950s by L. L. Dees.
