Ancient Egyptian alabaster fragment, depicting a male head wearing a large, striated wig, with remains of facial details. Appears to have a hand holding the head, from the back of the head. 3 inches wide X 2 1/4 high. Middle Kingdom, early 12th Dynasty, period of Amenemhat I/Sesostris I, 1938-1875 B.C. Mounted. Terracotta figure of Harpokrates with the attributes of Herakles, lion skin and knobby club, in the crook of his left arm.
Harpokrates is depicted with the sidelock of a child. The head is expertly modeled with wide, heavy-lidded eyes, a broad nose, and fleshy lips.
Harpokrates wears the Egyptian headdress with stripes and the threefold Atef-crown.
The youthful god is shown nude with the right forefinger close to the lips...

Faience ushabti for Horpenaset. Depicted mummiform, wearing a tripartite wig and beard. With pleasant, well defined, facial details, with arms crossed and hands emerging from tightly-fitted garment, hands holding hoes and seed sack behind the left shoulder. A T-shaped column of incised text at the front reads: "Illuminate the Osiris, Horpenaset, born of Asetshesen". 30th Dynasty, 365 -332 B.C. 4 3/8 inches high. Intact. Mounted. From an old New Jersey collection.

Ancient egyptian fayence shabti of Gemshu 11,3cm

Late Period, 26th to 30th Dynasty c. 664-332 B.C

Inscription: "Gm-Sw ms, Hr-m-Axt" means "Gemshu, born by, Horemakhet" Both Gemshu "the one whom the god Shu has found" and Horemakhet "Horus is at the horizon" are personal names typical for the Late period. On personal names formed in the same manner as Gemshu see.

This is an ancient bronze dagger from the middle east, possibly Egypt. The apparent high-copper content of the alloy and the general design put it prior to 1200 BCE.Bronze weapons were not made in ancient Egypt until after 2000 BC near the end of the Old Kingdom. It wasn’t until the Hyksos invasion of Egypt and their subsequent overthrow(circa 1550 BC), that the Egyptians began large scale production of bronze weapons using technologies learned from the Hyksos and neighboring cultures...

Interesting Egyptian shabti inscribed with black hieroglyphs reading: “The Osiris Pa-mel”.
The figurine wears a tripartite wig and holds agricultural implements in the crossed hands.
The modeling is crude as with other known examples, the back is flat. Thin greenish glaze on a white crumbly body material. Details of the face and inscription in black.

Curiously, the epithet Osiris is noted here in retrograde writing in relation to the name.

A lovely piece with pyramidal tappering sides to a short rectangular base. Hollowed from extensive use.

Wooden animal sarcophagus, perhaps intended for a serpent, fashioned as a shrine with nice cavetto cornices on top and a vertical sliding door in front.
Carved from a single piece of cedar with interior grooves to fit the front panel.
These kinds of shrines could house mortuary statues, mummified remains of animals or symbols associated with a particular deity.

Relics of the Nile is pleased to present this nicely-carved and detailed Egyptian wood mask. The facial features on the mask are expertly rendered with a detailed nose with nostrils and a serene expression carved on the lips. This is a rare example that would have been incorporated into the cartonnage wrappings of the mummy. During this time the deceased was wrapped in a full cartonnage encasement, however the face was carved of wood and sewn int the cartonnage. This is further evidenced by ...

Rare funerary cone with three registers of sunk hieroglyphs reading: (1) The Bearer of the brazier (2) of the temple of Amun, (3) Nekhy.
This cone and a second one held in a Japanese collection are the only known examples of the type, which is enumerated as 650/B.23 by Zenihiro.
Both the name and the title on the cone are uncommon. The personal name Nekhy is not listed with Ranke. Also the title is rarely reported and not yet known on funerary cones.
