The lot includes a very nice Roman bow fibula (53 mm. long), perfectly intact, good metal and ring attached to the pin; a Roundel fibula, (diameter 36 mm.) intact; a large bow fibula with intact pin (70 mm.!), small repair, and a Dolphin-shaped fibula, incl. pin (5,1 cm). repaired.
Nice green patinas.
Ex. German private collection from the 1960s to ca. 2000.

An ancient Egyptian Scarab, 3000 years old, from the famous Mitry collection (see our Homepage). It is 1/2” long (13 mm) and made of steatite, an easy-to-carve stone that hardens when heated. Notice that the bottom resembles a human face; this was done frequently. Scarabs empowered life and resurrection and were often placed under mummy wrappings to protect the body and to help it resurrect. This Scarab comes in a jewelry display cup.

Interesting stoneage artifact, probably a massive weight of sorts or alternatively, a mace-like weapon.
It's shape is oval, almost like a melon, and it's made in a light grey granite stone. It has 4 symethric ridges for some kind of binding, but we're not certain of it's usage - you're welcome to e-mail if you have seen this artifact before / have got a litterary refference for it...

An interesting and nicely preserved cylinder seal in brown stone, Neo-Babylonian, 8th.-7th. century BC.
An iconographic scene of the Great Babylonian King and a high priest, both bearded and wearing long dresses, on either side of the alter of the Moon god Sin, probably in the version of local patron Nabu. Behind them in the field, we see the typical Neobabylonian temple or alter structures and above a Sun symbol.
Size: 22 mm. tall and 11 mm...

Ancient Armenian Urartian bronze large bowl for libation (phiale) or a wine bowl, Urartu circa 9th-7th century B.C.
