This tubular shaped holder is partially hollowed on one end in order to receive a peacock feather decoration. The jade is a white tone with white mottling and a very slight hint of green when held to the light. It has a soft polish and even wear from use. Good condition.

Chinese antique Jade sculpture of a scholar rock-like mountain with waves on the bottom and a bat flying over the rocks. The rock contains an inscription which generally reads "Along with similar joyous and pure things". Jade carving of a bat spreading its wings on one side and on another side a coin shaped motif. Bats are considered to be an auspicious animal where the name is synonymous to fortune in Chinese. The coin contains a four character engraving possibly reading: Fu Shou Quan Shuang, or roughly translated as having both fortune and longevity. An archaic style Chinese jade object in the style of Han burial Jade objects. Top contains a motif of mythical beasts and the center section is incised with scrolling vines with a circular hole carved out in the center.The clear line seen below the beasts is a plastic wire to attach the jade piece on the black felt panel. It is 0.86 inch (2.2 cm) in internal diameter by 1 inch (2.7 cm) wide, and 1.2 inches (3 cm) in external diameter. It is 22.6 gram.

It has small chip, flea bite chips, cracks, inclusions, and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

A very fine antique Chinese archaic green jade carving of a beast. It's head has barred teeth and is turned to look backward over it's haunches to which are attached wing-like structures or a kind of stylized saddle. The unusual and thick tail twists and spirals in a circle and the feet rest on a sleigh-like pierced base. Early 19th Century, origin China, very good condition with no cracks or repairs.
