A small teapot and lid, Kangxi period, c 1700. Painted - clobbered - probably in Holland for the European market, in iron red, green, pink, black and gilt over the original under-glaze blue decoration. The base with a pseudo-Chinese seal mark in iron red. Height, including lid "4 1/2/ 11 cm. Condition: repair to the lid (cf. photos), otherwise fine.
Diameter approximately 14 cm. There are some soft chips at the rim. Flat color. Fair shape. More pictures are available.

This is a small shard bowl with the Tibetan lanca charcters or scripts. In the center of the bowl, it has a single large lanca character. All around the cavetto and on the outside of the bowl, it is covered all round with the same script lanca characters. At the back of the recess foot rim, it shows an embalm of a mace with ribbons. This water pot is in the shape of drum which doubles as a paperweight for painting and calligraphy. It is decorated with underglaze cobalt blue and iron oxide in a rather cursive depiction of flowers and butterflies. Fine Chinese Southern Song Dynasty Incised Celadon Porcelain Bowl (19cm)
This high-fired bowl was made during the Southern Song Dynasty (AD 1127 - 1279) in the 12th or 13th century at the Anqi kilns in Fujian province. Such wares were made for export around south-east Asia; indeed this bowl has been recovered from a shipwreck and various sea-growths still adhere to the surface in places, particularly to the unglazed base.
