This rare cylindrical vessel has visible rings on the exterior from the potting intended to imitate a section of bamboo. The rich, raspberry-toned glaze stops evenly just above the well-cut footring. The exposed paste is smooth and white with even wear from years of use. The base is glazed white; it is finely crackled and naturally stained from use and time. A line of pale orange re-oxidation encircles the interior and exterior of the footring where the glaze stops...

Ca. early 1800s, wired as a lamp in the 1930s or 1940s

This tall baluster vase is glazed in deep oxblood red that is suffused all around with patches of pale blue ranging to lavender and purple. The overall effect is somewhat reminiscent of a landscape painting. As a lamp, it retains its original brass fittings, but one socket is an old replacement. The wiring is intact and the lamp still functions...

A " textbook " early Ming Longquan charger with a carved decoration. Originally with a extremely nice and thick Celaon glaze. The glaze is so thick that it nearly fills out the recesses of the carved decotation to the center of the piece. Unfortunately there is some wear to the actually outstanding good glaze. Guangxu mark and period, 1875-1908

The interior is well-painted in various colors of overglaze enamels, having a central Shou medallion surrounded by four auspicious characters rendered in gold with red outlines on a white ground. The reverse is painted with two flower sprays over the clear glaze which covers all but the exposed footring. The six-character Guangxu mark is painted in two vertical lines in dark red enamel. The yellow enamel has some areas of light wear from use...

The decoration of a Dragon is at all rare to find on Ming Dynasty Minyao blue and white pieces. Still much rarer to find is such a Dragon bowl in a large and perfect condition like it is this bowl. Ming Jiajing period ( 1522 - 1566 ) Diameter : 17,9 cm. Condition : Perfect - there is just some very minute glaze fritting to the rim, but this is without a magnifying glass nearly invisible and absolutely normal for pieces of that period.

A rare underglaze blue decorated porcelain coffee can (cup) attractively painted in Chinese taste and made for export to Europe, circa 1725-1750, during the reign of either the Yongzheng or Qianlong emperors.
