This late 19th century Chinese ceramic seal paste box is 2 ¼” high and 3 1/8” in diameter. It depicts an orange red playful lion (Shi Shi) on white background. Aside from some crack lines due to firing, it is in great condition.

Description: An oval shaped brush washer made of stone was originated from Tang or Liao Dynasty.
In chrysanthemum decoration around the rim, the basin was kept with original whitish patina and some incursions within the tissues of the stone.
Some defects can be found.

Condition: An excavation piece, one defect on the rim, another on the bottom.

This late 19th century Chinese carved bamboo arm rest is 6 ¾ inches long and 2 ¼ inches wide. It depicts an autumn scene; three frogs resting behind lotus leaf and dry lotus pod. The poem on the top translate as: “When crabs are growing to maturity and yellow mums are withering away, I am drinking wine beneath a blue autumn sky.” The workmanship of the picture and calligraphy are just elegant. It has nice patina and is in excellent condition.

This small hinged metal case is covered with leather and opens to display both red ink pot and personal ivory chop. The person's name on the base of the chop is clearly carved. Leather in old China was very expensive...the owner of this chop must been a person of both status and wealth. The leather shows age but is intact and set is in very good condition. The case measures 2.5" X 1+" This is a rare old piece.

This is a small porcelain brush washer in the shape of a half persimmon with large scallop rim in mat gold colour. The interior is glazed in uneven turquoise colour. This is a late Qing dynasty piece probably of the early 20th century.

There is no crack, chip, glaze fritting, repair or restoration. There is only a minor firing fault as shown in picture no. 6 and minor bubble burst on one of the bud. Overall, it is in good condition...

This is a Qing dynasty porcelain bee hive shaped water pot. It is sometimes referred to taibo zun or qizhao (chicken coop) in Chinese. The only difference for this piece is that this bee hive water pot does not have a neck with a small mouth. This Chinese carved bamboo brush rest has traditional dragons chasing pearl and cloud motif. The background shape is the 5 mountains and the rim of the mountains have carved ridges. The piece measures 3.5 inches high and 6 inches across. The natural curve of the bamboo allows the piece to stay upright, and the piece remains balanced on the 1/2 inch thick bamboo. This is the sung dynasty twin fish celadon brush washer saucer, it has the typical crackle of Quan type glaze feel/colour and base but i eered the possibility of it being Quan Yao washer but rather the Longquan yao's.
